It was June 21, 2004, a sunny day, no wind, and a great day to fly. Flight 67 was flying from Honolulu, Hawaii - Houston, Texas. However, something went wrong while flying over the ocean.
"Attention passengers, this is your captain speaking. We have a slight problem."
The words you never want to hear while on a plane.
"We believe one of our engines has hit a flock of birds. However, the engine is still functioning."
"Thank God, a few passengers mumble."
The captain continues, "However, we will be landing in San Diego, California, and get the engine checked out, and most likely switch to another plane. Thank you for keeping calm, and try to enjoy your flight."
Some time passes on, and the planes engine has almost stopped functioning. The plane is loosing altitude, but slowly.
The captain comes on to the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, please do not be alarmed. The engine that hit the birds earlier has lost almost all function and power. We are not that far from San Diego, but the engine should hold up-"
The engine explodes, and the plane begins to decent very rapidly.
There is not much the captain can do to control the plane, and comes on the intercom one last time.
"The engine has exploded, and we are descending fast. The plane is very hard to control, and we may crash....."
The recording in the cockpit was shut off, and the plane crashed into deserted islands several minutes later.... There were no survivors.
