[WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - Frankedj - Oct 27, 2013 I had to make something new so I went overboard a little. I still have to tweak a few things before I start building the supports. This has a very very long ride time and Very High E & I ratings and a Medium Nausea rating. One section near the end is kind of inspired by the Z-Force coaster that was at Six Flags Great America from 1985-1987 before moving to SF Georgia then it lived at Magic Mountain as Flashback from 1992 - 2008 before being scrapped. I remember it when it was new at Great America. I'm old. I have to add some brakes to that descent because by the time you get to the bottom of it it is a bit extreme. It should help with lowering the lateral G-forces when I slow it down. This uses 20 single cars and no blocking. I used 85 block brakes. Not sure what it would do if I turned on blocking but I didn't build this with blocking in mind. I space out the block brakes and gradually increase their speeds for smoother acceleration. The stats... Type: Wild! Extended Size: 17 x 126 Excitement Rating: 9.02 (Very High) Intensity Rating: 8.32 (Very High) Nausea Rating: 4.09 (Medium) Length: 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - sikkinixx99 - Oct 28, 2013 WOW!! You have an amazing imagination!! Love the video when it goes up and over and you see all you've made I'm in awe!! RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - Frankedj - Oct 28, 2013 This video shows the look that I design for. More than likely most of the flat rides that I add to this park will be underground. Any that are above ground will be enclosed in buildings. All services will also be enclosed. RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - sikkinixx99 - Oct 28, 2013 Great video!! Love the look of it all!! RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - Frankedj - Oct 29, 2013 I have about half of the supports done so far. The lighting will need to be redone after the supports are finished. This has a 5 tile x 5 tile grid above the water that all supports attach to so all of the footers are perfectly spaced. Since I built this with a lot of the track barely above the water with no room for supports I saved the coaster, deleted the original and replaced it with it raised up. It was extremely hard to place since it is two tiles short of being as wide as the entire park and it is huge. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - sikkinixx99 - Oct 29, 2013 Wow amazing as always!! RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - rccoa coasters - Oct 29, 2013 :O I'm speechless! RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - Frankedj - Oct 29, 2013 Since I have started on the purple supports the game has started lagging a little bit. I have a very bad habit of having a bunch of programs running while I am working on coasters. I'll have a few or more web pages open, Youtube music videos continuously playing, very big things downloading and uploading, lots of folders open and Task Manager open. Maybe if I close some of those things the lag will disappear... I had to delete the glass roof off of the pit since that created a big lag. I think the reflections in the water are a part of the problem. Bruiser Falls and Wetness do not reflect in their water since they are below grade. Water has to be raised 10h above grade to have reflections of the coasters and supports. The tens of thousands of pieces I use in the supports probably isn't helping things. The videos I made tonight have a lot of spots that show the lag. Videos usually hadn't done that for me before. I will try again while having everything but the game closed and see if that gets rid of the lag. With a five minute ride time it takes forever to record an on-ride video. RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - Frankedj - Oct 29, 2013 I tired another video with everything closed. I even deleted the water under three other coaster to eliminate the reflections and it still lagged. Tomorrow I will try one more thing before I do anything drastic. I have been running the onboard video that came with the motherboard. It is just Intel 4000 but it has worked ok until now. I have all of the video settings maxed out in the game. Tomorrow I will throw a VAPOR-X HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 graphics card into my computer and see if that helps any. If not I will have to move that coaster to an empty sandbox and try that. I think that with it being such a huge coaster plus the reflections it has become too much for the video or the game. I hope that it is just the video. I know it's not the computer. I have an i5 Quad Core 3.4 GHz CPU overclocked to 4.4 GHz with 4 Meg of RAM. I built my computer too. RE: [WIP] subLIMe... 16,932.95 ft. LIM coaster - Frankedj - Oct 30, 2013 I need a tissue because I have an issue. I tried installing the video card and it didn't make any positive difference. It looks like the video is more blurry now but it still has the lags. It's bad.... I can't finish the supports until I figure out how to bypass the problem. I even tried the supported coaster in an empty sandbox with nothing but water and it still has the problem. These are my video settings. ![]() ![]() Laser occlusion by terrain and scenery is checked. Any ideas other than eliminating the water? The reflection is what I like most about this ride. |
