RE: Entrance to a new park I started - a work in progress - HairyLoco - Mar 13, 2015

I see.
You've made very good lighting, btw. It wasn't that apparent since the previous screenshots were in daylight, but it looks really cozy. The bright colours of the paths, the grass, trees and fountains make it look really good, but overlighting it is a danger, one that you've avoided.
Well done!

Lighting is a tricky thing. I know I will have rides that will have lighting as well. So I try not to add to many in the beginning. I always make it dark as I do the lighting in hopes of not "overlighting it." Sometimes I have to make adjustments to the lighting when more things are added. But for now I like it the way it is. Your positive feedback and helpful critiques have been beneficial and have kept me motivated for this project. I wanted to do something I little different. But now the entrance is almost done, I have to think a little bit on how to do the next section. As always thanks. I hope you will share more of your work with me.

I'm happy to have been able to help, you've done good work on it. I'd very much like to see your progress on the rest of the park, you've got a really interesting idea and a mind creative enough to make it something amazing.

I'll be updating my coaster WIP thread for Bounty Hunter soon, I've made progress but I'm not currently happy with the scenery so I'm going to put in a bit more work before updating it. I'd love to have your feedback as well. ^^

I'm going to be taking my time on this project. Just let me know when you've got something up so I can see your work.

Are you asking about the report button?
The report button is to be used if you feel is something not appropriate for this site. If I miss-understood, my apologies.

Yeah I never mentioned the report button, I wonder where the misunderstanding came from?

But anyway, do take your time, don't ever rush it. I'll let you know when I update Bounty Hunter.

Not sure...sorry about that.
Thanks for keeping me updated as well on your project.

I've been thinking a lot about the design of this park. I think I'm going to have a small section of the park with a memorial for those who served in World War II. It will be in a quiet place perhaps a small lake. In the town where I live they have something similar. People can sit by the lake and remember those who sacrificed their lives for their country/countries. There were many different countries who fought in that war. So it won't be a dedication to just one country. I have changed the color entrances and the design little bit. Edited pictures to come soon. Smile

The other sections of the park will include a kiddie/junior section. Of course, Roller Coasters, A hop on hop of train ride. Food courts, gift shops, washrooms, possibly a hotel.

Here are my latest edits...

Hey Aecrouch, good progress I should say, I like what you did with the flowers on the side and the toys shop; is that the only building?
It's starting to look more and more realistic as you go.

That said, I can't say I'm really a fan of the toy shelf standing in front of the window. Can't you scoop the window on the right in the third screenshot that intersects with the shelf one tile over to the right? I'm sure you can take out the one in the corner as well, functionally speaking that window doesn't really provide anything as there already is one right next to it.

I also see you've replaced a lot of blue textures with green, I'd say it fits pretty well, not a combination I would have thought of.
I find it hard to really find points to criticize, I actually looked for that window one, you're really doing a good job.

Hi HairyLoco,
Thanks for your thoughts on the edits I've made so far. Truthfully, the "toy shelf standing in front of the window" was bothering me a little bit as well. So I'll re-work it a little bit. There are 2 buildings and the ticket booths right now. More buildings to come. I just haven't built them yet. I'm glad you like the color combinations. I had tried using white and blue, but the white was just to bright and I didn't like the yellow. So I tried the mint-green shade and it seemed to fit okay to my surprise. I may change the colors in the shops as well. I'll try and give a better view of the buildings with the next edits. Should post again in a few days or sooner. Smile

RE: Entrance to a new park I started - a work in progress - aecrouch2016 - Mar 17, 2015

Currently working on more changes to the entrance. I've changed the colors again and some of the layout. I've been working on the shop but have come up with a name for the park. Sunbury (I used fantasy name generator) http://fantasynamegenerators.com/ to get the name. So credit goes to them. As I said before a section of the park will have a memorial site to honor those who have served in World War II. There will be a kiddie/jr section, roller coasters. food court, etc. I want the front entrance to be really good! I've been going nuts with the Sunbury shop and have it almost finished. I'll post pictures of that soon. As always when I post the pictures again would welcome feedback. Smile
