RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - Blu - Mar 16, 2013 Oh yeah I don't have the full version, so I can only open SKP files. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - miracle39 - Mar 16, 2013 I really think that you have a very good point. BUT, I think that one of the reasons that rct has remained popular (at least with this group of people) is because of custom stuff; scenery, flat rides etc. I think one thing that could be done differently would be that we all do a better job of listing all the custom scenery and provide links as well. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - Blu - Mar 16, 2013 I'm learning how to make a custom installer so if I release a ride it automatically installs it and the custom scenery and everything you need for it. Of course, a read-me would be required because I am including other people's work in my download. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - FlightToAtlantis - Mar 16, 2013 Is it possible to edit an .ovl file in order to do nothing more than remove the animation? There are some beautiful trees in all this fabulous CS available but I would prefer it they were static. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - Blu - Mar 16, 2013 All they do is sway. What's the problem? RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - FlightToAtlantis - Mar 16, 2013 I'm worried if I have enough of them in the park all that CS will put a strain on the game engine. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - Blu - Mar 16, 2013 I usually leave my game on pause when I'm building. I also don't really like to be in year 56 or whatever all the time. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - FlightToAtlantis - Mar 16, 2013 I think an old park is unattractive to the guests. In my second to last maximum sized park that might partly explain why the guests weren't coming to the park in their former numbers and why they weren't all that bothered with the pool, although I believe everything else I was throwing at the game engine worked against it too. I was just about to write the age of that park at around 135 or maybe 150 park years. I just checked. It was 208 years old. Too bad there's no RCT3 trainer like in RCT2 to make all the rides new. I'm not sure if in RCT2 it was possible to make the park new. In RCT3 you can go in scenario editor and make the park back to year 1 but I don't think it actually makes anything new. Anyway to get around this problem ever since my final maximum sized park I also do all my work in pause. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - Blu - Mar 16, 2013 Save the ride, delete it, and place it back. RE: A Humble Request To The Moderators - FlightToAtlantis - Mar 17, 2013 O.K. What about the park? Any way to make a park new? If I remember correctly, if I open a 50 year old park in scenario editor and save it as a park I'll still end up with a 50 year old park. I can make the park back to year 1 but the rides and attractions retain their statistics and their previous age. Let's assume I'm interested in editing a fictitious scenery file called, say, Ubuntu's Safari Plains Trees. In the Themed folder is the file for Ubuntu's Safari Plains Trees. I open that file and there's other folders inside. Lets call those folders tree1, tree2, tree3, bush1, bush2 and grass1. Inside each of these six folders are sets of various common.ovl's and unique.ovl's. In the same folder with the tree1, tree2, tree3, bush1, bush2 and grass1 files are the standard style.common.ovl and style.unique.ovl files. Let's say for the sake of this example that only some of this set is animated, say bush 1 and bush 2. Tree1, tree2, tree3 and grass1 are static. Where in Ubuntu's Safari Plains Trees folder will I find what it is that animates bush1 and bush2? What would this animation be called if I open it in Blender, and for those using Sketch-Up, what would this animation be called if opened in Sketch-Up? ____________________________ 18 March Hey AzoRctMan! You know animations. Do you think you might suggest something to get me started? |
