JUST WONDERING... - wdr1967108 - Nov 16, 2013 Kind of a newbie to RCT BUILDING. I am amazed at what can be done with RCT3. I was wondering how long it takes to plan and build a park? Is there a list of things that you have to do in order to build a park. Is there a youtube vid that tells a how to build ? RE: JUST WONDERING... - rccoa coasters - Nov 16, 2013 The only thing you have to do is BUILD! So if you're trying to get started, it might help if you base you work off of real things, that way you don't have to take all the time to plan a park from scratch. Then when you feel you're ready, make something from your own idea! And yes there are a lot of youtube vids! RE: JUST WONDERING... - FlightToAtlantis - Nov 17, 2013 Rccoa suggests build. To add to that I’d suggest practice. Try all sorts of things in various sandboxes remembering that not every park you start will end up a masterpiece. Basing some of your work off real things is a good idea but only you will know if you want the authenticity of a realistic park or would prefer a park that’s fantastic but also somewhat believable. There are some great tips on park planning in this thread http://forums.rctgo.com/thread-7207.html?highlight=planning There are some additional tips on building in this post http://forums.rctgo.com/thread-13478-post-97697.html#pid97697 If the quick link doesn’t work it’s post #12. If you’re having problems with files and downloads there is other information earlier than post #12 in that thread that may be helpful. If you’re planning to use custom stuff. And like Rccoa says, loads of YouTube videos are available. You can find one on almost any RCT3 related topic. As far as length of time to build a great park, assuming one spends 10 hours a week at it it could take as little as one month to six months or more. When you’re finished you’ll be very proud of your first park but by the time you get to your fifth you may find yourself revisiting your first park, perhaps to check how you did something before, during which you may ask yourself, “OMG did I build that rubbish!†Excellence in RCT3 is progressive and we all get better at it as we go along. All of us were newbies at one time so don’t hesitate to ask questions. |
