Gay Marriage: Legalize? - IntaminAndrew - Mar 13, 2014 I know SGW has a lot of debate threads and I wanted to start one here. So why not gay marriage? In my opinion, gay marriage is a sin and should not be done, but that doesn't mean I hate the gay. I have had lots of people say I hate gay people, but I don't, I hate the SIN. So what is your opinion on this topic? RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - nathan8848 - Mar 13, 2014 I don't this conversation should be posted on here. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - Frankedj - Mar 13, 2014 People have spent centuries picking and choosing from the bible what they want to consider as sin to fit their agenda. Even if the bible clearly states what is considered as a sin such as wearing two types of fabric, eating shellfish, how to sell your slaves, when it is ok to kill your own children or wife, working on the Sabbath day, women speaking their minds or teaching... and the list goes on and on. Bible thumpers used to claim that mixing of races was a sin and fought against mixed race marriages for a very long time. They lost that fight. They used to claim that women are inferior and do not deserve to hold positions of power, to teach or to vote. They lost that fight. Their last fight is gay marriage. You can guess how that one is going to turn out from history. Gay marriage wouldn't be coming in a landslide quite so soon but someone made it a very important issue. They spent mega millions to make it an issue. They kept it in the spotlight for so long that it made America take a closer look. The majority in America now see what the anti-gays are trying to do. Deny the rights of Americans to live their own lives with equal freedoms. This is America, not some Third World country that is ran by Conservatives who use their religion as law to control people. The US will never be a theocracy. Religion cannot be forced on Americans. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - IntaminAndrew - Mar 13, 2014 It does not say it is a sin. It says it is an ambonation to God. The things that you are referring to is the Law, which is found through out the Old Testament. God also says that sex is made for reproduction and not for pleasure, so what is the point of a man and a man having sex if it does no good to the population? RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - Drew_ - Mar 13, 2014 meh, let them do what they want. it's their life you can't tell them how to live it. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - Frankedj - Mar 13, 2014 If marriage is all about reproducing then no infertile man or woman should ever be allowed to be married including seniors citizens who can no longer procreate. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - Blu - Mar 13, 2014 I really don't care what the Bible says, just let people do what they want to do. As long as it's not hurting anyone, I think we need to look at more serious problems, like water shortages or national debt. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - IntaminAndrew - Mar 14, 2014 I didn't say marriage was for reproduction, I said SEX was for reproduction. I don't think that someone who cause water shortages or national debt could go to hell. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - Frankedj - Mar 14, 2014 What you are trying to do is link marriage to sex to reproduction all in the name of religion. You brought up gay marriage. You brought up sex. You brought up reproduction. Theocracy, look up the definition. That will never happen in the US. Our freedoms are protected by the Constitution not just those who want to pick and choose which Americans are protected. Everyone gets the exact same protections. No religion can ever change that. RE: Gay Marriage: Legalize? - 123ak59 - Mar 14, 2014 have you not heard about Pope Francis saying he sees nothing against gay marriage in the bible. I think it's rediculous, especially having to hide my sexuality from other people at school because they are too immature to accept that there are LGBTQ people, and that i'm one of them. The way i see it is that we should be able to do whatever we want. Maybe not in a church, because Christians are pretty pathetic about homo/bisexuals, but it should be legalised, definately. It is NOT in any way a sin! I think all you are complete morons, we are in the 21st century not 31AD so get over yourselves, no need to bash the bible here. You're pretty much extremists, looking into your religious book to find stuff against those you dislike. It is most definately acceptable in my opinion, and I don't see any valid argument against it at all. Britain are moving the right way, homosexual marriage is legal here, but i want the whole world to allow homosexual marriage, we are still people and we still want love, even if it is of the same sex. Just because a guy is attracted to another guy, he can't find happiness in marriage? Ridiculous in my opinion. |
