install tracks - TeknoStar - Apr 17, 2014 Ok I know this is posted somewhere in here already, but I don't know where to find it so I'm just gunna ask again.. I have RCT3 Platinum and I DL a track and put it in my coaster file but its not a trk. file. It's a .dat.bak file and it don't show up in the game. What do I need to do to make these tracks work? Sorry guys, I'm a newbie at this.. RE: install tracks - v1210 - Apr 17, 2014 hmm try moving it to your park folder maybe save as same file but remove .bak before you do RE: install tracks - TeknoStar - Apr 17, 2014 ok i did change the file to .td6 and now it gives me a "unknown file format". Maybe the track was made with a different RCT3? Or with different add ons? I dunno.. I DL this track: http://rctgo.com/downloads/view/3143 RE: install tracks - Riiickerttt - Apr 18, 2014 A .dat.bak file is a park file and you should put it in documents/rct3/parks instead of documents/rct3/tracks. Don't change the file type/name --> that won't be necessary Also don't forget to download/install the needed cs RE: install tracks - FlightToAtlantis - Apr 21, 2014 .td4 files are RCT1 tracks. .td6 files are RCT2 tracks. .trk files are RCT3 tracks. If you’re sure the file should be .td6 file and if you are wanting to play it in RCT3 it needs to be converted in RCT3 to a .trk file. Or you could simply try changing the file extension to .trk and see if that works. Any file with .bak appended to the file extension will not display in RCT3. To the best of my knowledge the only files that RCT3 will append .bak on to the end of are .dat files. RE: install tracks - alicebobby - Dec 4, 2023 The file you have,.dat.bak, is a park file; it belongs under documents/rct3/parks, not documents/rct3/tracks. Avoid changing the file name or type; it won't be needed. Remember to download and install the required C++ as well. retro bowl college |
