.dat files vs .dat.bak - aecrouch2016 - Aug 16, 2014 .dat files are the original file that I think is correct. .dat.bak I believe are the back up files. I had started a new project the other day. My original .dat (scenario so I could get rid of that entrance and put a different one in). I tried to use the .dat.bak file but it didn't work. I have to start all over now on the project. I was liking how was turning out. I have the .dat.bak saved on my flash drive. So I'm hoping someone can help me resolve the issues. Thanks in advance. RE: .dat files vs .dat.bak - SUPER MOOSE93 - Aug 16, 2014 i think you need both files for it to work RE: .dat files vs .dat.bak - Cheleste - Aug 17, 2014 If i remeber it right, than the bak file is the back-up copy of the safegame. But the bak file works only, if you renamed it without the .bak at the end. As an example: Testpark.dat -> original file Testpark.dat.bak -> back-up copy -> delete the .bak of it to become the original name -> Testpark.dat If you lost your original file or the file is coruppted or whatever, rename the back-up file to the original one and it should work. But safe a copy of the back-up file to! Allways good to have back-up files. I hope this is right, i dont try it out by myself, so if i talking bullshit, feel free to correct it. Lg Cheleste RE: .dat files vs .dat.bak - aecrouch2016 - Aug 18, 2014 Thanks again for the tips. I lost all of the projects I made, so I will have to download them from this site. |
