Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Chimalion - Sep 13, 2014 To work on my coaster's foliage, I need a good tutorial, because I'm just plain bad at it.. Can I have a link to one? Searched the internet, found nothing useful. -CS PROBLEM- The first 2 Ornamental Sets work, but Ornamental Shrubs don't work. Is there a way to fix it? RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Cobra - Sep 13, 2014 Infact that foliage goes equal with landscaping i woudl suggest to take a look on this one: http://rctlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1111 So you learn the basics which trees/shrubs should be placed where if you wanted to go for an realistic look. A thing that alot of people do wrong in RCT3. They place different trees near each other, that would be never happen in real. With Meercat's basic landscape tutorial you learn it, how it could be. With the basics you can practice the rest itself. There isn't any rule for placing rocks/shrubs/flowers and so on. And with enough practice you'll find out, on which places it looks good, and where not. You also can use real pictures with an really close foliage that you want to have on your coaster to become a feeling how it should be, what types of trees/shrubs/flowers are used in real. With this info's you can rebuild it in RCT3, doesn't matter if some pieces aren't right. But big faults like: - Palmtrees besides Pinetrees - green leaftrees (spring/summer) besides yellow/orange leaftress (autumn) should be avoided Soo long, Cobra Edit: About your CS problem, i use n7's Ornamental shrubs and others, too. And everything works well. Check out the folder/file: "n7 Ornamental Shrubs" should be the name in the themed folder, after unpacking you have two folders with "N7OS". You see, they work fine and without any problems ingame. Re-download it and try it again. Somewhere along the download/unpack/install way you did something wrong. RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Chimalion - Sep 13, 2014 Thanks! 2 Reps for your help. RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Blu - Sep 13, 2014 Um no don't use that set. I hate it. I actually made a tutorial using this and I look at it now and it sucks. RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Chimalion - Sep 13, 2014 (Sep 13, 2014, 04:05 PM)Blu Wrote: Um no don't use that set. RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Blu - Sep 14, 2014 It wasn't a video I posted it in a thread, but all the pictures are broken now. http://forums.rctgo.com/thread-6368.html RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - v1210 - Sep 15, 2014 hmm i see palm trees by pine trees quite often and while the time is brief for a couple weeks you can see a vivid range of colors ranging from dark green to vibrant reds and dusky browns in maples and other trees here in upstate NY the palm trees are either in a indoor setting or in pots outdoors where i lived in conn. they have orange trees growing outdoors. So while the general rule is good ,the earth is a diverse and ever changing work in progress with many micro climates and habitats. Your best guide is to look at pictures for the area you want to build then if you plan on doing something different , you can introduce a story element "why is it different" or "why is it unique" and ultimately "why am i looking at it"; make your foliage work for you ) RE: Good Foliage Tutorial + CS Problem - Chimalion - Sep 15, 2014 May I have a video? |
