RCT1 scenario glitch? - Rudy18 - Feb 15, 2015

So I recently brought my old RCT1 disk over to this computer, and for some reason when I complete a scenario, it is not listed as completed in the scenario listing? Im not sure how to fix it and redoing the scenario would not be the best option... I did not notice it until I had completed five scenarios, however, Forest Frontiers DID work. The scenarios that did not work are Dynamite Dunes, Bumbly Beach, Iceberg Islands, and Volcania.

P.S. The scenarios that did not work had a gold padlock symbol next to the save file, unlike the Forest Frontier save file.

Hi Rudy18,

I'm not familiar with RCT1 but if you have .dat files for them, I know in RCT3 they have 2 places you can put the scenario files. Scenarios and Start new Scenarios. Maybe you can see if RCT1 has that.

Ok so I just found out some new info... While trying to play around to find out whats wrong, I went onto my forest frontiers save file, tried saving, and I saw a message that read "Save Failed" that popped up for about half of a second. Im not sure if that message popped up with the other parks, but the files are still able to be loaded in. I completed the forest frontiers park all in one go without saving, unlike the others, so maybe me saving and reloading the park is causing the problem? If anyone knows how to fix this please help me out.

Also I started a park on Arid Heights, which has not been completed yet, and it has that padlock symbol next to the save file as well. Im afraid of building up the park and it end up not correctly completing.

I checked my save files on my computer and forest frontiers is the only one there? I am still able to open the other saves in the game but they aren't appearing on my computer?

I'm not sure how much more I can help you with this. I know when I play RCT3 I usually save my original file and a back up file just in case there is an issue. One reason why I don't use Editor Scenario in RCT3 because I have problems with it sometimes. I know there are a few RCT1 and RCT2 players still in this forum. I know Terry Inferno still plays RCT2 his page http://forums.rctgo.com/user-16718.html you may want to pm him and see if he can help you more. Smile

It is a miracle, after doing some research and playing around, I never found out what was originally wrong, but uninstalling it and reinstalling it (making sure if was on full instead of minimum installation) ended up working! It may have been me installing it originally on minimum settings, but it appears to be fixed now!

What a relief! So glad you were able to fix the issue and use your previous files again. Smile

Nope, I lost the saves but this time everything actually saves onto my computer now. I had only completed about five scenarios before I noticed the issue however, so it shouldn't take too long to redo.

I'm sad again Frown I completed forest frontiers, was working completely fine until i finished the scenario. I tried saving and I got a "save failed". I then went Frown and opened dynamite dunes and tried saving. It saved but it has the dreaded gold padlock again. I don't know what to do anymore.

I guess I didn't understand the situation.
Maybe try doing a search on youtube regarding the subject. Either way, I hope you figure it out, especially after all of that work.
