Employee Management - siouxdax - May 24, 2015 Hello all: I'm having a bit of trouble managing my employees, particularly janitors. With mechanics, I can click on a ride, and click the "call mechanic to this ride" button, and I can then easily see the mechanic's patrol area. When it comes to janitors, it's not that easy. I wind up having to open up the employees window, and go through the list of janitors, clicking on the patrol area button, and eventually find the janitor that I want to deal with (change patrol area, etc). It's a hassle. If I'm wanting to find the janitor that is patrolling a particular area, I either have to sift through the peeps and find him, or go through the list until I get to said area. Does anyone have a helpful method of managing employees? I've tried giving them different names, related to their area, such as "north-west", but when I have over 20 janitors, it gets hairy. RE: Employee Management - Cobra - May 24, 2015 You should give your personal more fitting names. Names like "Handydude1" or "North-West Area" won't help, that's normal. The names should cover up the rides that are maybe besides. "Rollercoaster-1 Exitpath" or "Ferriswheel Entrance" gives you more info about the area where a Janitor stays in a bigger park. And mechanics should cover up only one ride, it's enough if the patrol-area cover the exit of a ride. Than a mechanic is trapped to this ride and will be the only one whos called if the ride is broken down. This method is used in RCT1&2 and also works in RCT3. Big patrol-areas aren't helpful, not for mechanics and also not for janitors. Only Security-Guards and Entertainers can have big areas or can run free around. So long, Cobra RE: Employee Management - siouxdax - May 25, 2015 Cobra, thanks for the info. I decided to give my employees a complete overhaul. But, I'm having mechanics cover two rides, plus whatever stalls are in between. They seem to be handling it just fine. One related question though: I thought I read in the manual that mechanics must have access to the ride's exit. But, I start getting messages saying that the ride's entrance is not covered, so I include both the exit and entrance in their patrol area. I assume that maybe the manual was incorrect, and that both the entrance and exit must be covered? RE: Employee Management - SUPER MOOSE93 - May 25, 2015 mechanics only use the entrance of the ride. it doesnt really make any sense because when you have a long queue line, it would be quicker to go in via the exit of the ride RE: Employee Management - siouxdax - May 25, 2015 OH! I'm so glad I asked. Thanks so much, SUPER MOOSE93! This will simplify things for me. Thanks again! |
