DAT File Download - TheKoasterKing - Mar 11, 2016 When I download something on this website it has the extension .dat is that right? if so what do I do with it? RE: DAT File Download - ChrisMDB - Mar 11, 2016 It depends on what you've downloaded. CS (Custom Scenery): Usually .ovl, directory for Windows is: My PC > Windows ( C: ) > Program Files ( x86 ) > Atari > RCT3 > Style > Themed Note that this is CS for RCT3 only, I'm not quite sure about RCT2 as I have the Steam version (which is REALLY bad by the way...) CTR's (Custom Tracked Rides): These usually come with a ReadMe file, check that for specifics on that download. For RCT3 they are usually split between the TrackedRides and Cars folders in your directory (same as the directory listed above but without the style and themed extensions). CFR's (Custom Flat Rides): These also come with ReadMe files, the directory should be similar except lead you to the Style > Custom extension. Scenarios and Parks go in their respective extensions of the root directory above, those are both .dat so I'm assuming that's what you've downloaded. Again this data is all for RCT3, if you need help with a Steam version of RCT2 or RCT1 I can help, however; I'm not sure what the directories would look like for the disk versions. Hope this helps RE: DAT File Download - Batt - Mar 11, 2016 And the last thing: the .dat files can be also structures, if it's so you have to put them into your "Structures" folder |
