Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - Justin - May 15, 2016 It's time for another round of voting for RCTgo's Build It! Competition. Four more great entries are up for voting - below are the name and screenshot of each. It's now time for you to vote for your favorite track! Let's have a great round! #1: Wendigo ![]() #2: GoHan ![]() #3: Caution II ![]() #4: Velociraptor ![]() Voting is now open! Voting will remain open until Sunday, May 22 RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - Maverick360 - May 15, 2016 I ended up voting for Wendigo, It just seemed to be the most solid entry here. I would have liked to see some more theming here though. Caution 2 was also very good, and I was torn between the two. GoHan could have been much better with some scenery other than trees. Velociraptor was lacking almost everything, except a theme. It had potential though, the layout was really nice, and I liked the pacing and placement of elements. RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - naveisawesome - May 15, 2016 Immediately voted for Caution II, truly a wonderful recreation and really showed skill with RCT2 The station for Wendigo is really cool, but otherwise than that the ride is fairly uninteresting, but that took 2nd place I shouldn't have to comment on the other 2, you all should know why those shouldn't win RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - Supra G.L. - May 15, 2016 YAY!!! Votes for Build It! round 235 are finally open!!! ![]() Sorry, I waited too long for that. Now, there are all my comments for each entries: Wendigo: This is not a bad entry. The layout looks good and the supports are well done. However, the scenery and folliage around it are not very imperssive. The station is very plain and the few trees around the track are not enough to make it so beautiful. This track needs a lot of improvement. Gohan: One thing I really don't like in most RCT1 entries is the big lack of scenery around them. It's like their creator didn't even tried to make something beautiful because of the limitations of the game. And this is what I feel when I see this entry, even if the layout is ok. At least, we have some good RCT1 builders such as ChrisMDB and NieSch. Sorry for the person who built that, but you need to put more effort on the scenery if you wanna compete with other entries. Caution II: In my opinion, this is the entry with the best layout and maybe the best scenery in this round. It looks very thrilling and fits very well with the theme of danger, the yellow and black colors and the big size of the rolle coaster making this theme obvious. Also, it is clear that its creator put a lot of efforts in the scenery, and it's worth it. All buildings and structures around it make it beautiful to see, and the landscaping around it is quite nice. However, I'm not sure if this entry could be here, just because there's already a similar roller coaster in this forum, but only Justin can judge if that's ok. For now, it seems fine. Even if the buildings are repetitive and a bit simple, it will not stop me to vote for this track. Velociraptor: I really like the layout of this track, this looks very smooth and visually good. However, like the other entries of this round, the scenery is problematic. For me, the station is poorly designed and the few dinosaurs and rocks around it are just not enough. A developped landscape with a lot of folliage would definitively help to make it more attractive. It needs a lot of improvement too. If I'm too salty with my comments, just tell me, and I'll try to comment the next entries in a less offensive way. RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - BlazingEmpireHD - May 15, 2016 SupraTheHedgeHog, I'd be a bit sad if this one was removed, because both of the "Cautions" are mine. There shouldn't be any problem! Let's have a great round! RE: Vote for your favorite track! There shouldn't be any problem! Let's have a great round! I understand what you feel, and I hope your entry is not removed from this round, because it is very good! And I didn't say that both of "Cautions" are yours because I wanted to keep that anonyme. But, as I said, I'm not responsible for anything that could happen to your entry. Anyway, I wish you the best for this round! ![]() RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - aecrouch2016 - May 15, 2016 I voted for GoHan I liked the design and the scenery. ![]() RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - Terry Inferno - May 15, 2016 Justin reviews the entries before he starts each round, so if an entry is deemed invalid for the competition, it would be disqualified before the beginning of the round, not after. The Caution tracks have two completely different layouts, not to mention different scenery and track painting techniques, so they're clearly two distinct coasters despite a few intentional similarities. Feedback coming soon. Stay tuned. RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - Supra G.L. - May 15, 2016 (May 15, 2016, 09:17 PM)Terry Inferno Wrote: Justin reviews the entries before he starts each round, so if an entry is deemed invalid for the competition, it would be disqualified before the beginning of the round, not after. Thanks for some precisions about the rules, Terry! I still have more to discover about this forum. RE: Vote for your favorite track! Round 235 - ChrisMDB - May 16, 2016 First, I'd like to apologize for my inactivity. Unfortunately life strikes occasionally and must be dealt with swiftly, lest it create bigger problems. ANYWAYS, time for my CC. As always this is purely constructive criticism, and if I sound like a jerk I really don't mean to. Wendigo: My first impressions of this coaster were that it was rushed out, and not enough time was put into the layout or the station. I do like the idea and theme of the ride, however the execution was poor. All of the buildings are empty boxes, and the track consists of two helixes, two launches, and a couple bunny hills. While this is clearly the second best entry of the round it isn't something that I think should win. GoHan: I feel the creator knows this rides shortcomings (as I provide the same every round and I know they don't plan to change the entries) so I'll just leave this blurb and nothing more. Caution II: The much anticipated sequel to Caution has arrived! Personally I like the first of the Caution rides more, but this is the clear winner of the round as it is the only complete ride. The only thing I can suggest to improve upon the design is to add more terra-painting, as having just the dark-gray stone is a little bland. Everything else about this ride from what I see is spot on though (except for the fact that the station entrance doesn't match the station, but I know that can't really be avoided sometimes). Velociraptor: A good beginner entry, this certainly shows potential, however; it is very far from being a winner in its current state. Terraforming, terra-painting, foliage, and much more scenery will be needed to reach that level. My vote went to Caution II, and as I stated above this is really the only complete coaster present in this round. If more time were put into the other entries this would be a much more open round in terms of ability to win. Finally I'd like to thank Supra and BlazingEmpire for the shoutouts, and Supra again for the compliment on my RCT1 creations. ![]() |
