REVISED Quad Racer - Brixenivy - Mar 11, 2017 Much happier with this one. Stations and lift hills are in synch.  Feedback is welcome. https://rctgo.com/downloads/view/16470 Right outside https://rctgo.com/downloads/view/16471 Right inside https://rctgo.com/downloads/view/16472 Left inside https://rctgo.com/downloads/view/16473 Left outside RE: REVISED Quad Racer - BlazingEmpireHD - Mar 11, 2017 Looks pretty cool. Good job! RE: REVISED Quad Racer - Brixenivy - Mar 12, 2017 Thanks. Got a couple good tips that helped immensely. Rct2 and rct1 aren't that realistic looking. I'm surprised that any rct2 or rct1 entries have won the build it competition because from one comment I read in the build it forum the more realistic the coaster the better chance it has at winning. So congratulations to those who won with rct1 and rct2 it must have taken quite an effort to get your coasters to win and I praise your effort and dedication RE: REVISED Quad Racer - BlazingEmpireHD - Jun 20, 2017 I disagree; a lot of the time, and I believe several agree with me, RCT1-2 outshines real-world realism in some way. Sure, RCT3 can be realisticly approached, but the game isn't exactly realistic. Not to say that RCT1-2 are outstandingly realistic, but it's hard to compare the three games when none of them are that realistic. Some RCT3 entres won, yes by realism. Most others won by bias. For some reason, when there is a 3D entry entered into Build It, there seems to be a unanimous effort to vote for the 3D entry and not the clearly better RCT1-2 entries. There have been many many rounds where a rather mediocre RCT3 entry really shouldn't have won. You probably are in the bias if you say that RCT3 is always and evermore realistic than RCT1-2. That, or you're missing valued information. Either way, none of the games are realistic, but you really should not say that if equal efforts are used in two entries with two games, that the RCT3 entry of the pair will always be the better, more realistic entry. It's just not the case. I'd be careful how you put things like these into your next topics, because you can cause commotion. 😉 RE: REVISED Quad Racer - Brixenivy - Jun 22, 2017 (Jun 20, 2017, 10:27 AM)rctmuttindudge Wrote:(Mar 11, 2017, 08:23 PM)BlazingEmpireHD Wrote: Looks pretty cool. Good job! First, this wasn't a competition entry. I challenged myself to do something I'd never tried before, and through trial and error and with advice from better builders than me, I got it to work. Second, I've seen some amazing RCTC/RCT2 rides as well as some really horrendous RCT3 rides. Realism is only part of what makes a winning ride. I can put together a stunning track, realistic, exciting, perfect stats, etc., but if I put it in a level clearing, no scenery, no theme, no nothing, there's no chance it'll win...regardless of what version I use. |
