Painting rock layers - Brixenivy - Jul 21, 2017

Any suggestions/tips/tricks for making realistic looking layers in rock formations? Sorta like this:

Thanks. Reply or PM is cool, either way.

If you're looking to do it in no limits or planet coaster Im not that big of a help as I only do RCT2 and RCT3

Hmm looking at your picture I'm actually going to recommend against trying to paint it and use custom scenery instead. Luos BTM Rocks set is a good set for that

Or Weber's Canyon Craze set

Not sure what options I have as far as custom "anything" goes. Game is on my iPad and I'm just starting to reacquaint myself with it.

There is custom scenery for RCTC/RCT2, I suggest looking into it. As for terrapainting in RCT2/RCTC... yeah just do your best.

RCT3 custom scenery should work on iPad as well as PC

Diving back into RCT3 😳 after way too many years.

I'm used to point and click...touch screen is hit-and-miss.

I tried terrapainting an exposed rock on Son Of Cliff Dweller (RCTC) and ended up hiding a few ugly spots with shrubs...and track.

Brix is on RCTClassic, RCT3 doesn't have a mobile port (yet).

Well...

(Edit: obviously cropped, shading due to shadows)

This is one of the best examples I've found of someone using actual terrain to create a Southwestern environment.

Or, you could just do what this guy did and throw terraforming out the window altogether.

(only one video is allowed per post apparently)

Ah, the wonder of post lag lol, so is your RCT3 on your tablet then? If so is it an emulator of sorts? Just curious is all.

Here's a great tutorial on terrapainting in RCT3:

If you mix the sand with rock and dirt textures you should be able to get some really great textures. I prefer the checkerboard method he shows in the video but it isn't your only option of course.

Hope this helps!
