RMC names - Princess Anna Of Arendelle - Feb 21, 2018

I've noticed something odd about RMC. Most of the time when they re track an old wooden coaster they'll keep the old name but at something to it examples of this would be

Texas Giant > New Texas Giant
Rattler > Iorn Rattler
Colossus > Twisted Colossus
Cyclone > Wicked Cyclone

These 4 I can think of off the top of my head

Sometimes though they change the name completely like in the cases of

Hurler > Twisted Timbers
Mean Streak > Steel Vengeance
Roar > The Joker
Georgia Cyclone > Twisted Cyclone

Its this fact that makes naming RMC coasters in RCT3 tricky. Some are easy like for example TheCoasterCreator's winning build it entry Quickdraw can become something like Texas Quickdraw due to the western theming of the original name. But others like Skovbrand or Behemoth can be tricky.

Its the Parks decision, not RMC's. So be original!

I wonder how parks decide on those names

It's a battle between marketing, operations, and in some cases corporate. They have a theme in place and start tossing around names. Gatekeeper at CP was named what it is because it crosses the front gate. Thunderhead at Dollywood was named after a nearby mountain. Millenium Force opened in 2000. The Beast was named because of its "aggressive" layout. Six Flags, however, is known to reuse and abuse names. They have also come up with some good ones as well (El Toro, Kingda Ka, Dare Devil Dive, Iron Rattler, Medusa)

Whats a good name for a RMC version of a coaster named "Behemoth"?

RE: RMC names - The Coaster Creator - Feb 22, 2018

Whats the theme?

RE: RMC names - Princess Anna Of Arendelle - Feb 25, 2018

I don't think "Behemoth" really has a theme. It was probably named for its size

Well then drives name so it is hard to
Decide. You could pull a six flags and call it Twisted Behemoth
