is it worth the money - Princess Anna Of Arendelle - Mar 20, 2018 Well I just ordered RCT World. Im just trying to figure out if it's worth the money. Is there anyone here who plays it who can give me their thoughts? RE: is it worth the money - The Coaster Creator - Mar 20, 2018 It is terrible. Get planco instead. RE: is it worth the money - Princess Anna Of Arendelle - Mar 20, 2018 The thing is the computer I'm using doesn't support planet coaster because of the lack of RAM. I really want planet coaster but my computer doesn't support it I'm really not willing to pass judgment until I've actually tried it. I already ordered it. For all I know you might be judging from a beta version of the game. Maybe if some RCTW coasters won build it maybe it might be worth it RE: is it worth the money - naveisawesome - Mar 20, 2018 So don't settle for the piece of crap that is RCTW then, RCT3 is much better and it was made a decade ago, and your computer should be able to support that RE: is it worth the money - ChrisMDB - Mar 20, 2018 If your computer can't run Planet Coaster it won't be able to run RCTWorld. My laptop can run Planet Coaster at 60FPS on max settings yet it could barely run RCTW on lowest settings. The game is terribly un-optimized, barely has any content (and they've been doing a terrible job at adding more), and in the vast majority of peoples' opinions is a waste of money. If you do choose to ignore the droves of people that say it's garbage feel free to waste your money though. I do hope that whatever means you're using to purchase the trash has a means of getting you a full refund, because you'll want it. Also, just going off of the graphics and lack of scenery options/limits with in-game scenery, an RCTW entry to Build-It! would never win the competition unless all three other entries were all of the same quality of "Alien Crap", or "Awsome Coaster". Even RCT3's vanilla content looks better... RE: is it worth the money - The Coaster Creator - Mar 20, 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P3fHGcKPGQ If you need more evidence, this is what I have to offer. RE: is it worth the money - Princess Anna Of Arendelle - Mar 20, 2018 That actually wasn't a bad coaster at all. RCT World's coaster editor is a lot like planet coaster's so creating coasters like that is possible. RCT3 can't do that. RCT3 is gridlocked. RE: is it worth the money - Terry Inferno - Mar 20, 2018 From what I've seen, RCTW does have a more advanced coaster editor than that of RCT3. That's where the improvements seem to end. RCTW has been panned across the board for being buggy, hastily made, and in many ways being at least a step behind its predecessor despite being over a decade newer. There's a reason why it has almost no fan base or why no coaster exists anywhere on the internet that wouldn't be considered mediocre by Build It standards. Of course, not many people here have actually bought the game, so most of us are going only by reviews and the content that currently exists. If you have a positive experience with it, and you're able to create something of competitive quality in Build It, you could potentially persuade others to see the game in a different light. Either way, you'll know soon enough whether the game is worth the money or not. RE: is it worth the money - Princess Anna Of Arendelle - Mar 20, 2018 Yeah. Just keep in mind that just like any of the RCT games that RCT World has its limitations. But with that advanced almost PC style editor I might be able to make some pretty good coasters. I've seen some good ones on YouTube. We'll have to see what RCTW can do. I don't know if I'm the only one here who has actually purchased the game or not but im impressed by the quality of what it DOES have RE: is it worth the money - Ziscor - Mar 21, 2018 I expect the developers would have fixed, or at least tried to fix, most issues people had complained about at launch by now. The one frustrating thing I noticed in gameplay videos was the difficulty in placing things next to paths, like stalls and rides. Apparently it tries to snap to the edge but fails terribly or something. Hopefully fixed now. There's also the hilarious peep animation bugs. For just making coasters that look pretty it doesn't seem that bad to be honest, but then again, that's a pretty low bar for a sandbox roller coaster game these days. Either way, Planet Coaster could get you better value for money: more polished, better looking (arguably), and a larger community supporting it. |
