Game RCT3 gold wont start - DeLorean - Dec 16, 2005
Hi,
I am new on the forum (my name is Sander, 19 years and live in Belgium) and i have a lil prob..
I bought RC3 gold today, installed the 2 games and when i start the game i get the white screen with trademark here, trademark there, copyrights yadda yadda yadda, after a few seconds the text fade away and i just have a white screen... and thats it... noything happens when i click or press a key...
what is that?

Hello there. Sorry to hear you're having problems. Quite a few people seem to be in a rut with the Gold series. I would say post your dxdiag text, that will tell a lot about the problem. To find out how go HERE! and follow the instructions under subject: System Specs. If you have any problems just me/someone know.

Well, I can't really find anything wrong. Probably someone with a little bit more experience will know more. Have you downloaded the lastest driver version for your video card? I think you would want to go here---> http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
So let me get this right,
You installed the 2 games and when you started the game you get the white screen with "trademark here, trademark there, copyrights and what have you," and you said after a few seconds the text fade away and you just have a white screen, and that's it...
Do the above if you haven't already.
Also make sure you've downloaded the patch/updated for RCT3:Gold, if there is one. {Start/All Programs/Atari/RCT3/Check for Updates}

Your video card might not be compatible. Games are known to run on a fluke sometimes, even when they're not supposed too. If what Beelitz suggested does not work, then this is probably the case.

ok, i updated me drivers but the game still dont work... lets face it: i payed a shi*t load of money for a game that doesnt work... a lil bit frustrating if u know i NEVER buy games, only download or copy them :-(

Go to:My Documents/RCT3/Coasters. The other folders do the same for other stuff -fireworks, parks, etc...
-This link I'm about to give you will direct you to Atari Community/Help and Support-->HERE. From there you might be able to find others who are having the same problem, and if the game is defected, exchange it for another one. If that new game doesn't work, then you know something else is wrong. Go to that link first, find a similar post or create one if you don't see any, and post your dxdiag like you did here. I'm starting to think that the problem may lie in you video card and this is why I say that: From the Soaked Read Me txt it says,
                                      [Video]
  - 64 MB video card with Hardware T&L - such as any 64MB ATI Radeon™ or GeForce™ 2 Ultra/Ti/Pro or higher* with 64MB
  - (Systems with GeForce 2 GTS/MX, GeForce 4 MX, or the Intel Extreme chipset family may exhibit performance degradation or graphical irregularities and are not recommended.).
And you have GeForce4 MX 440
