Installation issues. - Blitzit - Apr 2, 2006

I just installed this game, and I seem to have issues. It says that the d3d9.dll archive couldn't be found, and asks me to reinstall. When I try to uninstall the game, I get the following error:

Well, that's some of it. If you click Start>Run>type in DXDIAG and click Enter it will bring up your Direct-X Diaglog were you can choose the option "Save All Information" and then post that information in this thread.  Please note that it will be a very long text. BUT, from what you posted above, it seems that your DirectX is not up to date.

Lets do this: Put the RCT3 CD in your drive. Click Exit if autorun starts up. Open up "My Computer," right-click the CD Drive where RCT3 lies and choose open.  Now double click the folder that says DirectX and double click the .exe that says dxsetup.

The funny thing about this is when installing the game, it automatically updates your DirectX from that file, so lets use the above as a 2nd option.

Before you update your DirectX manually follow this link HERE and use your best judgement with the advise enclosed.

Once you post your DXDIAG, we should be able to determine or narrow down somewhat the problem. <no promises though>

Weird. It doesn't work. It just says... DirectX 9.0 couldn't be found, and asks me to retry or quit. Retrying never works. Ack.

I Wrote:Lets do this: Put the RCT3 CD in your drive. Click Exit if autorun starts up. Open up "My Computer," right-click the CD Drive where RCT3 lies and choose open.  Now double click the folder that says DirectX and double click the .exe that says dxsetup.

Try this. By the way, what kind of video card do you have?
