End Of The Line?? - Shaun Allsop - May 24, 2006 Okay now most of us will know by now that there is a new theme park creation game in the making. Now normally I wouldnt pay much attenntion untill it comes out, If im intrested Id buy it and that would be that. But with thrillville its diffrent. Not only is it being made by atari/frontier. It has the same look as RCT and to top it all of it has more game play cababilaties than RCT. Why didnt they include these features in RCT? Also I think its strange how they are only7 releasing it on the console. I rember back when i used to play the sims and sea world tycoon. Some custom sceanery that I had download along with many other peaple was not really custom sceanery but objects out of other games I.E the sims objects in sea world tycoon and visa versa. Maybe this is why there not planning to rlease it on the PC. I for one want anwsers. Because atari are developing this game it leads me to beleave that there attention is no longer going on RCT. If true this would mean no more exspansions and no more pacthes and as we all know these are things RCT users are screaming out for and and i would think Atari know this but are choosing take our money and run to put it in finer terms. So what are your thoughts? Do you think this is it for RCT? Do you think thrillville will top RCT. I for one will not be buying thrillville. simply because it feels as though they have just dumped us RCT users. But at the same time I could totaly be wrong in what im saying and I could just be jumping the gun and if so I hold my hands up. They may develop further things for RCT, They may be doing it as we speak. What are other peaples thoughts and opinions? RE: End Of The Line?? - Neg-A-Tive-G - May 24, 2006 i think rct will deffinately carry on, mainly because of its huge success, they couldnt just leave a brillient game. i hope they add to rct. But looking at thrillville, it is so much like rct3 that i fear it could knock rct3 right off the market. Well, if you cant beat em, join em, as the saying goes. If they dont add to rct3, then i wprobably just buy thrillville RE: End Of The Line?? - Jag100 - May 24, 2006 RCT4 will soon be in the making RE: End Of The Line?? - rct3x - May 24, 2006 I have faith that they will develop more for RCT! RE: End Of The Line?? - Shaun Allsop - May 24, 2006 I hope that they do Continue supplying updates and exspansions for RCT but looking back at the other RCT titles theres genrally been the main came and about 3 exspansions. But at the same time I kinda think they should maybe do an RCT 4, Maybe include things that we all want, less bugs and more gameplay involment like in thrillville. We can only speculate and wait and see what happens next. I do think RCT has come on leaps and bounds since its firts release and so has the community and fanbase that supports it and I hope there will be more to come RE: End Of The Line?? - Beelitz - May 25, 2006 I really hope that RCT continues down the path of success. I would like to see a RCT4 and not just another expansion for 3. What I think would be interesting is to see the sales statistics for RCT1, 2, and 3. To see just how big of a success RCT really is. Personally, I think Atari/Frontier advanced a few years when they released RCT3. When 3 came out, I couldn't even play it and it ticked me off so bad. I had to buy a graphics card, which I knew nothing about, then I bought another one to replace that one. My RAM and processor were underscored and barely ran the game. Reading the Atari forum help and support, many people were having problems and it took a while but things started to settle down. Some bugs were worked out and of course people started upgrading their components. That's just how I felt though... I will not be buying Thrillville! I'm sure there is no lag, but we're limited on what we can do. But bewarned, I'm sure it will sell alot if they advertise it right. All those little kids who play the consoles and not the computers or even those who were ticked off like I was, will most likely buy the game. Like I said above, that's just how I feel. RE: End Of The Line?? - DrMonkey - May 25, 2006 Well in a way I can't see them wanting to make a RCT4 at the moment, they have no where to go with the game. Windows have a new operating system out next year and that means rewriting all of the game's code for a new operating system. When they made RCT3 they improved it by giving it new 3d graphics, these really made the game get better and gave it a new brand of fans. I can't see them making it even more 3d as then no one will have a good enough PC to not have lag. Also if they make RCT4 I and RCTX have to buy a new domain for the site's we own:wink:  RE: End Of The Line?? - G-Force Junkie - May 25, 2006 If Atari abondoned it, Chris Sawyer wouldnt......he knows theres to much money to be made. The market for rct is Massive.Theres alot of die-hard fans out there, myself included, who want more......no way is this the end of the line.it might go quiet for a while, but then itll be back, bigger and better.Over and out RE: End Of The Line?? - DrMonkey - May 25, 2006 I just had a very creepy thought RCT4X It sounds like a piece of graffiti found down your local pimp juice bar, when you are being sick with ya posseh  RE: End Of The Line?? - Turbo Tortoise - May 25, 2006 /\ Lol. I think that the franchase has been so successful that they just have to carry on, if they dont then that would be million's of pound's lost from game sales. I will be very sad if they do not continue with RCT. =( |
