Can someone tell me what the money is for? It seemes like it is there for no reason at all.:|

The forum cash is used for a wide range of purposes, such as buying your own custom forum, making bets in the RCT3X Betting Saloon and just being avocado friendly to other members by donating. There will be a shop soon when the Mod has been updated....I'm guessing a couple of weeks after the new version of MyBB (if anyone does know the date please tell me).
The cash in RCT3, is used to buy in game pieces such as Carousels and Scenery. If you have a look on the RCT3X Cheats page there's probably a cheat to get unlimited funds. Sandbox parks already have unlimited funds as oes the scenario maker but not the built in scenarios or ones you've downloaded.

Well the cash has currently dissapeared at the moment, not sure if thats intentional or not!!

No - its not "gone", It has just yet had to be made 1.2 compatible.
