All Eyes On... - Chickenselects - Sep 14, 2006 Well, I thought I'd start a thread about all the cool things I find while browsing other forums and looking around so every two weeks or so I'll find a creation (or creator) and tell you a little bit about it (or them). Well to kick it off my first talented creator is Fisherman. All Eyes On...
Fisherman, is a creator of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 videos over at the atari community. His latest video Cirque Phantasmagorie is a chilling tale about an abandoned traveling circus, it one of the greatest things in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. You can check out these and other great videos at Putmeonthenet.net/friends the creator of the site is JMAINAZ another great creator of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, who will be featured next report.
RE: Chickenselects Featured Creators - Chickenselects - Sep 14, 2006 Today, I asked Fisherman to do a short interview and he agreed. What inspired you to create videos? Well to be honest, I just really LOVE designing themed rides…especially dark rides. Making the videos is a way for me to convey my dark ride ideas. At first I was reluctant to try video-making…I guess I was intimidated by all the awesome videos I was seeing out there in the RCT community. But I made myself give it a try and discovered how much fun it was…I was hooked. Would you consider it hard work? Yes…but that makes it worth it when I end up with something I’m satisfied with and more importantly when people are entertained…that’s the rewarding part for me. What is the best part of creating for you? Wow…I really like it all but the most fun parts for me are the brainstorming/idea-making stage at the beginning of a project (that’s when I’m the most creative) and I also really love actually editing the final film…I especially enjoy creating the “soundscapeâ€Â. Do you have a favorite video? (your own or another?) Hmmm…well I’m my own worst critic so when I watch my own videos I only see all the mistakes. Ha ha. But of my own I really like the way Cirque Phantasmagorie turned out the most (except for all the stuff in it I wish I could go back and fix…ha ha). As for the films of others, I’m crazy about projects with great stories, because to me a good themed attraction needs a strong story. Mt. Fury stands out in my mind as one of the best. How much time do you invest in your videos? Well lately the attractions themselves are taking a couple of months to plan out and design and build in the game. And then I spend roughly a week of evenings on the video once I’ve collected sound effects and music, etc. What projects do you plan on doing next? Well…I have lots of ideas in the works. My current project focuses on vampires and werewolves. But it is the project after that one that I am really excited about. Let’s just say that if I can pull it off it will be quite an eye-popping attraction that will take RCT into a whole new dimension. I also eventually want to “revisit†my GhostMine ride concept using the latest custom scenery out there. And I’m dying to see what I can do with JCat’s Spaceworx scenery. Any closing remarks? Just that designing dark rides would be my dream career. So if any themed attraction design company folks read this…PLEASE GIVE ME A JOB!!! LOL…no seriously…call me. |
