Problems with stacking scenery vertically. - clut - Mar 15, 2008

Before installing Soaked and Wild, I was able to build structures in RCT with no problems. Holding the Shift key would lock the tile that the scenery was in and allow me to alter the height.

I have recently installed both Soaked and Wild and I now have great difficulty building structures because holding the shift key no longer locks the highlighted tile. When I start to adjust the height of the new object, it wanders off as the mouse moves over other tiles.

In addition, the CTRL key doesn't function correctly, in that it should allow me to use the height of a previously placed block to set the height for a new block. However, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, and most of the time I just can't get the new block on the right tile.

In RCT3 I was quite adept at building complex structures. Now I'm
having real problems building simple structures.

I can include my dxdiag output if anyone wants it.

Can anyone help?

Try reinstalling all three CD's, when I was having that problem I reinstalled then it started working again.

It's definitely your installation. What order did you install them in? Should be Orig., Soaked!, and then Wild.

Hope we help.

I shall re-install now.

I did install them in the correct order, although a long way apart. I bought RCT3 when it first came out, and patched it asap. For some reason Soaked didn't catch my interest and I forgot about RCT.

Then, the other day I saw both RCT3+Soaked+Wild on sale all for much less than I paid for RCT3 in the first place, so I picked them up and installed soaked then wild and everything else works ok.

In a way I'm glad other people have had this problem... and found a soloution. I'll re-install and see if it helps.

you mean on the game or just on the computer? I don't think it does anything on the game though.
