I have played that game and have enjoyed it. The space to build coasters is lacking but the flexibility of the track is awesome. Hoever it was still lacking something.

I just found out that Atari is auctioning their rights of RCT. The minimum buying price is $3.5 million. So I guess there is now a chance of there being another RCT.

Thanks for the update. It's always good to have the complete picture.

According to the internet Atari filed for bankruptcy in January, have since then tried unsuccessfully to sell their entire catalogue of games in a single block, and are now planning to separately auction their IP's in July. From what I've quickly scanned it seems RCT3 is anticipated to attract the highest bids.

And there's a comment here in this forum from someone who actually enjoyed an email exchange with Chris Sawyer, and there are mentions of various RCT partnerships

Here's to hoping that whoever gets RCT3 that RCT4 will be coming after and that RCT4 will simply be a pimped-up retread of RCT3 - I'd certainly drop some money on that!

Even better if it can import RCT3 parks, tracks AND custom scenery / tracked rides / flat rides, plus a new graphics engine that uses new techniques to make stunning graphics without RCT3's, y'now, lag caused by the old buggy engine.

It would be a boon if you could be able to import all of those!

You’ve read my mind although ..... along with everything else you said I’d settle for more features with the same graphics.

It would indeed.

You guys may be saying how cool it would be to have all these things in the next roller coaster tycoon, But I have serious doubts about the people who buy the Rct series having enough money to hire the best people and to make these ideas come true.

A-a-and ..... what's your take on Theme Park Studio?

It's a great game, but that's not what I meant, I meant don't get your hopes up about the new rct being the greatest thing ever.

I mean, a new engine that doesn't have to be resource-intensive to make RCT3-level or better graphics in a huge park, using new techniques, like multi-threading, that didn't exist in 2004.

As for the new features, I'd take a custom flat ride editor where you base it on an existing ride and then modify roof size, add restraints, etc. as well as the ability to import models into the game. Another one would be a track drawing mechanism similar to Coaster Crazy as Construction Method 2, the other method being the good ol' piece-by-piece construction method.

Plus, even if the graphics are the same, I'd like more realistic skies please. Other than that it's okay.

What you mean not enough money? I mean, um, 1.2 million dollar minimum bid!!!
