Waterfalls Flowing into Pool Complexes???!!! - timothy1176 - Jan 20, 2011 I am building a new Island Park and i was trying to figure out what i could use to go behind my quadruple cascading waterfall and i thought...hey can waterfalls go into pools? i was told that it was impossible as one kind of water was different from the other....and with no CS help at all i finagled it...i don't know if it is old news but i would be glad to share it with anyone who wants to know how to do it.In addition dont make fun of the waterfall it isnt done.Myself and a lot of people i know have been struggling and struggling to make a natural looking waterfall....with the way RTC treats waterfall construction that aint gonna happen, so instead of trying to hide the artificial aspects of the waterfall i chose to enhance the man made look and i plan on building it into a work of art all its own Here are some pics (PS my park and this particular section is still under construction so please dont mind the mess lol) RE: Waterfalls Flowing into Pool Complexes???!!! - pigeonlover85 - Jan 20, 2011 that;s a great looking bit of the park you done there, oh and a revelation to me! I'm gonn ahave to try that now.!! so then, spill the beans .... would love to know PS, that area would look nice with a 'compact inverted coaster' maybe tunnerling thru the waterfall block RE: Waterfalls Flowing into Pool Complexes???!!! - timothy1176 - Jan 20, 2011 (Jan 20, 2011, 04:03 PM)pigeonlover85 Wrote: that;s a great looking bit of the park you done there, oh and a revelation to me! I'm gonn ahave to try that now.!! i lowered a small area underneath the fall about 6 tiles deep. i then added water then initiated the fall then i clicked the build pool tool and dragged it from a valid point all the way up to the fall....i have tested this by removing the water on top then putting it back again and restarting the fall and it still works! this new park of mine is awesome! some the features so far are a greyhound bus terminal,a full service parking lot with VIP parking ahhh ill just show you here are some pics Mind you i am still building so it is a little bare , and i havent finished terraforming yet this is my first "Professional style" park that i have done on the inside (underground) of the falls i was planning on putting a mini food court and maybe a sloe ride completly underground. i really wanted to save the outside of the structure for scenery and a MASSIVE mixmaster production, so i dont think i will be putting costers around it , however i have one plannned to go behind it and across the ocean it is sooooo funny because inside the bus station i put a cashier counter i lowered the land at an angle all the way around one square....then i picked up an adult peep that happened to be in my park and dropped them on that square, i renamed them bus depot cashier and conscripted her into forced labor for the park lol BTW i am using several sets of objects made by alot of people i dont know how to make em so i just dl em lol dont mean to double post but i have a problem the above mentioned park is going to be very highly detailed and unfortunately the game is slowing down although i have a very very high end computer. The waterfall feature ended up with NINE individual falls that cascade off one another this waterfall effect is what i think is slowing the computer i wonder if the CS waterfalls i have in file storage would help better performance or if the poly count on them is just as high if not higher than the computer generated falls and i have to wonder if a cs fall will look better or worse than the ones i made using the standard waterfall tool, if anyone has suggestions please let me know as this is becoming a real bugger i bet many of you were even wondering when i would get to this post lol i would like to comment that it isnt crashing or freezing the game, it is just a touch jumpy when placing pieces.....something i never encountered b4 i have a really high end graphics card alot of ram and tons of memory on top of fairly decent processing power so i was shocked when the game slowed as i have NEVER had this happen b4 Also, since i went for the artificial look to these falls im considering enclosing at least the bottom half of the falls in a structure, perhaps a glass structure of some type, and i might go as far as just below the topmost fall to give the effect of a waterfall pouring into the building, what you think about that idea? RE: Waterfalls Flowing into Pool Complexes???!!! - timothy1176 - Jan 23, 2011 that is cool hey why is this forum so dead i have only seen you and like one other person post here in like a whole week RE: Waterfalls Flowing into Pool Complexes???!!! - pigeonlover85 - Jan 25, 2011 any updates Tim? this park looks the business! RE: Waterfalls Flowing into Pool Complexes???!!! - timothy1176 - Jan 25, 2011 Thank you so much for your interest. Alot of changes have been made to the park this season including the Board decision to rename the park from Island Paradise to Pulau Kondor Island Resort and Water Park. Extensive renovations have been done to the simple and very bare pool complex. The pool complex was separated into three parts (Yet all connected into the central pool complex) with each segment having it's own specific use. The pool under the water fall is now a wave pool / Waterfall pool. Since the waves and waterfall are already flaying water about everywhere a overlook path has been made over the front of the pool where guests can shoot the people in the pools with water cannons. It was decided to use this isolated section for the water cannons because some peeps just hate to be shot with it and will desert the pool sections that contain water cannon. We wanted to have a pool complex that could be enjoyed by all so we isolated the area in which the cannons can be utilized.here is a screenshot The main section of the pool complex is designed for basic pool usage. We have added several diving stations as well as an extensive high dive area.In addition we have added an extensive sauna area along with loungers that are color coded according to their location within the floor plan of this area of the complex.New additions to this equipment are forthcoming. The third and final section of the pool complex has been designated the FUN are or the actual ride area. Here we have added extensive waterslides including a lazy river and also a custom made peep cannon that will shoot peeps over this section of the pool complex and into the pool of the main complex.Extensive work is planned on adding more scenery to all parts of the pool complex We have also been working on the entrance to the pool complex.I'm not too good at structure construction projects so renovations have been slow. The entrance is 75% complete so far. Also added are two new waterfalls to the cascade already in place and are still renovating the waterfall structure itself. We added a movie theater and also restrooms to the inside part of the waterfall structure. There are tentative plans for a food court addition as well.We also encased the midlevel section in glass to improve aesthetic value to the structure. Also in the planning stages are plans for a sound stage for popular bands to come play music in the park.We have consulted with the contractors and we have come up with something that will look similar to this. There are alot of exiting things planned for this park in the near future including an Amtrack station adjacent to the parking lot.Stay tuned! |
