Trouble with billboards. - RCT3psycho6 - May 7, 2007

Hi it's RCT3Psycho6 and i need some help. I've been trying to make custom images for billboards and it just isn't working. When i click on the custom images button, the "my Pictures" folder comes up but there isn't anything in there. I went to the "pictures" folder on my documents, and i have pictures on that folder. I was wondering if maby there is a differenct between the "pictures" folder and the "My Pictures" folder, so I typed in the address for the "My Pictures" folder, as shown in the game at the custom images window. It said that no such folder existed. So at this point im trying to get any help i can, so if someone could maby point out my problem i would really appreciate that.=(

Did you save your images into "Pictures" or "My Pictures"? That would make a difference.

Also, are you using Windows XP or Windows Vista?

I save the pictures to just "pictures" because i couldn't find any "My pictures" folders. I have windows Vista. :whistling:

Vista got rid of the "My Pictures" folder and replaced it with a "Pictures" folder... and because RCT3 was not coded to support this change for Vista computers, you are just going to have to navigate to "Pictures" on your own.

what do you mean navigate my way to the pictures folder? Is there some way to change the window in RCT3 so that it open up to my "pictures" folder? If there is, then I don't know what it is.:cry::huh:

Hi I'm just typing this again so that I can maybe get an answer this time,
What do you mean navigate my way to the "pictures" folder on my computer? Is there some way to change the custom images window so that it shows my "pictures" folder instead of my unnattainable "my pictures" folder? If there is please let me know because I don't know how.:cry::huh:

Ok, what he is talking about is that when you save your work to "pictures" and when you try and upload it brings you to "my pictures" you should see the little box for the directories such as you might be in C:mydocuments/RCT3/Rollercoasters. well your going to see your directory probley as C:mypictures or something of that nature. Youre going to have to hunt down the "pictures folder" in C drive and self navigate to it in the box that pops up, by directly pressing C drive, then my documents, then pictures. Or wherever your "Pictures" folder is, You will have to navigate to it.

RCT3 recognizes a folder in your documents called 'My Pictures'. There, it will install it's own folder called RCT3. Now this folder that RCT3 is looking for is in 'My Documents' and only holds pictures. So my guess is that if Windows Vista apperantly took away 'My Pictures', then just move your Pictures folder into your documents, make sure there are only pictures in it, and rename it too 'My Pictures'. Then rename your documents to 'My Documents'. Making it look like a Windows XP file folder to RCT3. I dunno' it's just a guess but it might, just might, have the slightest chance of being worth a try...

I'm no computer genius but I would have thought that if vista changed 'My Pictures' to just 'Pictures my instinct would say to do what Jakk said but thats justa complete guess:huh:

In case anyone has Windows Vista and is having this problem, there's a fix here:

I used this fix and it worked for me. Smile
