faster billboard Q rate

#1
hi,
at the moment i haven't been able to upload videos onto billboards as i only have a gif animator, and even when i convert file to another type it still will not load (even with the Alvin s.. cheat)
So i have been using Q images on billboards for things like rotating screens etc, but the scroll rate of them changing is REALLY slow and most of the time the ride goes past with just one image showing before it changes. so is there a way to speed up how the billboard flicks between images qued up?
Also what video types are compatible with rct3 as i'm struggling to find out. cheers!

It appears the only video file type recognized by RCT3 is the .avi file. I’ve unsuccessfully tried .wmv, .mpg, .3gp, .flv, .mkv, .mp3, .mp4, .swf and .htm files. I’ve also tried an animated .gif saved as an .html file. None of these file types will display in the billboards menu except the .wmv. Sometimes I saw a proper thumbnail of the .wmv file and sometimes I saw a solid gray thumbnail. Regardless which thumbnail was on display every time I tried to use the .wmv file a message displayed indicating the file type was unsuitble.

Here’s a screenshot of the video on various billboards:

As you see all the videos display with black margins. It seems there is the same amount of surrounding margin regardless of the proportions of the video in relation to the proportions of the billboard.

Here is a screenshot of a still image shown on those same billboards. Note there are no black margins.

Here’s a screenshot of the same video showing on the same billboards, the video now with a file size slightly over 2MB and using the Alvin Swazonegger cheat.

And here’s an image taken from the original video. The image size is about 8” x 6”.

I've noticed that sometimes the billboard will hang and display solid black between the last frame of the video and the first frame of repeating the video. The larger the billboard the longer it hangs in solid black.

Quite frankly I don’t think using videos in RCT3 are worth the bother.

With regard to animated .gif’s saved as QImages, while I don’t have any personal experience with QImages I would imagine the way to get a quicker frame rate for animated .gif’s would be to increase it in the QImages application before saving the file. I don’t know of any way to increase the queue rate for billboards in RCT3.
