Hi HaloFan and welcome to our site. Are you familiar with Larry Niven's Ringworld? Larry Niven is the Author and the book is called Ringworld.

A bit different.

As you know Halo is a game revolving around the Array of several ring-like structures created by the Forerunners.

Ringworld is a compromise between a planet and a Dyson's sphere but is a single structure that revolves around its sun in the year 2850. Briefly, the structure is the size of the Earth’s orbit and is an endless band (a halo shape) manufactured by using several planetary systems as raw materials and created in a material called scrith, averaging about 50 metres thick. It’s a band a million miles wide with walls a thousand miles high on the edges for holding in the atmosphere on the surface of the structure that faces the sun. Ringworld revolves around its sun so as to create gravity on the ‘inner’ side. The inner/sunward side is extensively terraformed and is where the living space is. Ringworld is a book, one of several written by Larry Niven. If there was a Ringworld game I just might buy it.
