They are related to how many posts you have on the forum - the more posts, the more little blue squares. It coincides with your user title (the text beneath your name), if you don't have a custom one set.

I have no idea, I changed mine to Putting the T in thrill and I still have the blue squers.

If you don't have a custom user title set, you have one based on your post count, which increments after a certain number of posts (which I've set). The number of posts necessary to get the "next higher" user title is the same as the number of posts to get another square.

so like after 50 posts say park visitor could change to park staff for example?
