love how i just got back into rct3 its been far too long getting stuck in with a few of your guys coasters too. this site is awesome cant believe i didnt know of any sharing coasters and competitions anywhere for the game until now. hope you guys enjoy my uploads too. will be asking for help of this whole cs thing though as im new to that too. not really sure but i got some star wars one which came with 3 coaster types including the shyguy coaster and any time i try and make one my game crashes. any help with what to do to fix this would be cool.

Hi Andach. This is a great site for sharing coasters, structures, custom stuff, screenshots and all other things RollerCoaster Tycoon.

Including myself very few people get it with custom stuff the first time around. Dealing with it can be daunting and overwhelming but it’s a labour of love. Once the kinks are ironed out the results are well worth it. With RCT3, the first thing to do with custom items is to be sure they’re extracted properly and doubly sure the extracted files are placed properly.

If there’s still a problem after this it would be helpful if you could let us know exactly what you were trying to do, the steps you took while doing it, what you were doing or had just done when the error showed up, the exact wording of the error message and if the game shut down by itself or if it stayed up but froze – things like that.

Most all our members are willing to help. Providing specific information in posts will help us that much better to tailor a solution to your needs.

thanks very much mate. much appreciated. it was a ctr i downloaded called CTR_DasMatze. it looked awesome as it had the shy guy coaster and i really really want to make a mario or nintendo themed park.i downloaded the file which contained CTR_DasMatze_CarnavalFestival, CTR_DasMatze_ClassicTram, CTR_DasMatze_Eurofighter, CTR_DasMatze_Eurofighter_Alternative, CTR_DasMatze_FlyingShyGuyCoaster, CTR_DasMatze_OldMcDonaldTractorRid and CTR_DasMatze_ParkJet extracted to desktop then placed in the rct folder in

-program files x86
-atari
-roller coaster tycoon 3
-tracks
-tracked rides

i try to use any of these rides it freezes then closes with a windows message saying windows is searching for a solution to the problem

hope this is enough to put me in the right direction as to what im doing wrong thank you for your help

It seems from what you’ve written that you’ve put all the extracted files into the tracked rides folder. As a general rule CTR files come in twos and go one each to these folders:

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Cars\TrackedRideCars\, and

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\tracks\TrackedRides\.

There are rare exceptions to this arrangement. To be sure they’re being installed properly the best thing to do is to follow the instructions in any read me that came with the download or failing this, hopefully there are instructions on one of the pages you had to navigate through in order to get the download.

I myself use some of the rides you’ve mentioned and my personal rule for CTR’s is if there is no read me and no instructions then I pass on it.

If one is just getting started installing CTR’s I’d recommend installing only one or two at a time until you get the hang of it.
