My name is watercool8 I am not good at making coaster or parks but I am good at running a park but building a park with custom roller coasters and putting scenery and making it look real or a recreation is not working for me so can any give any advice
I am not good at scenery yet either but what I have done after unlocking all of the rides is that I started building tons of coasters in empty sandboxes. It is how you learn to make good coasters with good ratings. Lots of practice.
When you build coasters , always keep it running in test mode as you build it so you can see what it will and won't do. You can keep an eye on the speed and G-Forces as you build too. G-Forces over 6 are not good. Real roller coasters stay below 6 G's.
Giant first drops will make a very high g-force. Going too fast on corners makes high lateral g-forces. Going round and round multiple helix's will raise the Nausea level and make the riders vomit.
They goals you want to shoot for are a High or Very High Excitement rating, a Medium or High Intensity rating and a Low or Medium Nausea rating for adult coasters. Using CTR's (Custom Track Rides) mostly do not show accurate ratings similar to the in-game coasters.
When I started building coasters I made many super tall super fast super long coasters. They all had extremely bad ratings. Bigger, faster, taller is not always better.
If you have the Wild Expansion Pack try using the Extended Coaster to build with. It has the most track pieces. Watching RCT3 videos of coasters that others have built can help give you an idea of what others do. If you use lots of inversions too close together it will raise the Nausea level. It is a good idea to space out the special parts of your coaster.
My personal favorite style of coaster is one that is very compact with a lot of track in a small area that weaves in and out of itself. They are considerably harder to make than a coaster that is all spread out.
Don't be afraid to delete coasters that you don't like or to delete track pieces when things don't look right to you.
If you play with the in-game Lim Launched coaster be forewarned that it can be very difficult to get the last track piece to line up. You can use the Extended Coaster as a Lim Launched coaster by using the Block Brakes as a Lim. It won't be as fast as a normal in-game Lim Launched coaster but it is fast enough to make a nice coaster.
Welcome, and you are supposed to use CTRs for those rides.
You do not need CTR's to build your own coasters. You can use the in-game coasters that give true ratings.
With CTR's you can build a very bad coaster and it will give you Uber-High ratings that are not even close to being realistic.
I don't post any coasters that I build that do not have true ratings. I have had plenty of coasters with 50 and 60 Uber-High Excitement ratings but those kind of ratings are meaningless.
