Computer boot race

#1
Get any kind of stopwatch (real or mental one) and just time how long it takes for your computer to load your os. (From the time you press the button to the time where you have to log in, OR, if you have the login disabled, count the time between where you push the button and it first shows your desktop)

My time: 1:06

If can beat me, GOOD JOB! If you cant, look up with envy. (those of you with vista shouldn't expect to get a head start)

Gosh. My computer doesn't have Vista on it but XP and it takes like 5:00 to boot up but it feels like it takes half an hour. It's literally the slowest computer on the planet. Frown

I'll time it with my stop watch later today though. Wink

I just put my computer to sleep most of the time rather than turn it off... much quicker than waiting for it to turn off and then waiting for it to turn back on. It's not terribly slow, but it's definitely takes longer than simply waking it up from a sleep! Smile

I hear IBM is coming out with a computer that has advanced transistors which save all your data so you don't even have to boot it up, even if unplug your computer or the power fails.
