I already went to the Denist last month for my regular cleaning.
Well, I'm getting braces. :crying:

I've never gotten braces so far. Do they hurt? I remember one guy in my school had to wear a retainer all day and he kept on loosing it like 24/7 so he wasted literally all of his money to buy replacements. Plus, he complained the retainer irritated him a lot.

They say now they have all this new equipment so they won't hurt when they come in, but I will feel soreness the first night. Here is ALL the stuff I can't eat-
Candy- Any candy that is hard, sticky, or chewy can pull brackets and bands off of my teeth for my braces.
Ice- It can cause the brackets to pop off, bend the wire, or chip the cement off of the banded teeth.
Beef Jerky or Slim Jims- Too tough for your mouth to chew while braces are in the mouth.
Chips- These will cause the brackets to pop off unless the chips are crushed up and I use the back of my teeth: That will reduce brackets from popping off.
Hard Bread- Hard Bread can cause brackets to break and can bend the wire unless you tear up the bread before eating it.
Popcorn- The little shells can get caught between my gums and bands and will cause pain. The unpopped kernels can knock off the brackets.
Nuts- They are too hard to enjoy and can cause major damage to the braces.
Meat on the Bone- The meat has to be off of the bone before eating. If not, they can break off brackets.
Fruits- This only goes for apples and pears. They need to be in little bite size pieces and chew on the back teeth.
Veggies- Only for carrots, celery, broccoli, and corn on the cob. The corn on the cob has to be removed from the cob and other hard veggies need to be cooked or cut.
Pens, Pencils, and Nail biting- This will cause brackets to break. They say chew sugarfree gum. This will ease the pain.
I'M HARDLY GOING TO BE ABLE TO EAT ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!! :crying:
