I feel stupid for asking this, since it seems like such a simple question, but how do I get queue lines? I see the button for it when I click on the ride, but nothing happens when I click the button. What am I missing?

You have to place them on the ground, like paths.
Your ride also needs a entrance for it to work

There are two types of paths. The plain path is used for the ride exit. The other is for the cue.

On the left side of the game screen you will see the path icon. Click it. The top icon on the left side is for normal styles of paths. The bottom icon is for the cues.

You don't use the control panel of the ride unless you want to change the position or style of ride entrance and exit. You can also turn off the ride entrance sign there. That is probably what you are clicking on but you won't see the change unless you have a cue line.
