We all hate Lockdown drills because, well, I just don't like them, but that all changed for me today.

Today, this morning, at Approx. 10:30 AM, we got an announcement that my school was on a REAL Lockdown, but no one seems to be scared, but I knew we all were scared on the inside. So we just go on with our day, and we get an announcement that we are now able to move freely about the building. This was when I was in Band class (from 1:55-2:55). We also got an announcement that we had to exit out the front of the building in Band, and we were all like WTH??. Later on, we got another announcement telling us the order of the buses. Mine was the 9th bus, and they also told us that ALL the after school things were cancelled today. Right when it was time to go, they only let the 1st 3 buses go, and then a few minutes later, all bus riders only were allowed to go. Walkers who did not have a ride had to go to the office, car riders had to go to Room 109, and Fun company had to also to go to the office. When I was walking down the hallway with my class, we all got an announcement that EVERYONE in the hall had to go back to their classrooms IMMEDIATELY. That's when I thought he was in the building. But like a minute later, we get ANOTHER announcement telling us that ALL teachers had to escort the rest of the students out of the building and help out. So then i was finally able to get to my bus and go home. This story was also on the news, and there cop cars like EVERYWHERE!!!

OMG so I guess today was a bad day for me...

We used to do earthquake drills. (Which I hated) I would think "How can this flimsy desk save my life in a earthquake?" Then in 2003, just a few days before Christmas, we got hit with a big 6.5. A third of the class panicked, but the rest of us (including me) came to our senses and hid under our desks until it was over.

So, what happened exactly? What did it say on the news?

It just said on the news that the guy barricaded himself into his home so he wouldn't be arrested for paying for a ticket, and the guy threatened to hurt himself. On the news that i watch at 6, it said that the guy tried to commit suicide, he is in the hospital, and that the 3 surrounding schools were put on Lockdown.

Having lived in California all my life, Ive experienced a quite few of those.

When I lived in Florida my school was put on Lock down. I dont quite remember what it was about though.

At the school that I go to currently, they said that there is a lockdown thing going on, that was what I caught, but what I didn't was that is was a drill, and the ENCORE class that I was in (which is Tues. from 9 am-12 pm), one of my friends told me a fake story that would be used for a Lockdown (a REAL lockdown) and I believed it, but she then said it was fake. Then we had a good laugh.
