Redlyn Amusement Park

#1
Welcome all to my new creation Redlyn Amusement Park, the official thread started becasue this is my 500th post!

{1971~New Beginnings}

Hello everybody, my name is Matt. I'm thirteen years old and I just moved here to Pennsylvania with my parents. I've been here for a few months and school has just en-dded, and I've actually made a few new friends quickly Smile I asked them the best things that they do in the summer and they said that they went to an amusement park frequently named Redlyn Amusement Park. I went this weekend with my friends to see the park for the first time and it was pretty fun! And here is what I captured with my new camera that I recently was given.

Here is the front entrance, the ticket booths were right behind me and one ticket costs 20$ There was this thing called season passes which you could get on the left side of the entrance, its like some unlimited visit thing. Doesn't intrigue me too much due to how big the park is. I also forgot to say that I like this entrance, its very nice. My friends told me that the park opened in 1969, and they were all there when it opened. Wish I was there.

The first thing I saw when you come in is Mainstreet, a section of park that has a series of shops and entertainment with all the buildings in the same kind of style. In the distance looks like lots of fun.

[Image: COUt43v.jpg]

But before the fun in the distance, we stopped by the Crystal Arcade. Its an arcade (obviously) and has arcade games as far as the eyes can see. There was non-stop playing for at least 2 hours, such a fun time Smile

[Image: DL0Ym5c.jpg]

And now here's the fun, our second stop was the park's premier ride named Timber Wolf!

[Image: igN66Py.jpg]

The ride is quite thrilling, it has lots of hills and giving you a "floating sensation", not sure what it should be called but it should have the word "air" in it Smile

[Image: 7YrlNyt.jpg]

After about five rides on Timber Wolf, my friends and I hit the Tea Cups and spun ourselves silly :P It was so fun yet out of control.

[Image: 6sB7XZc.jpg]

Then after a few rides on the Tea Cups, we wanted to chill out and catch our breath and cool down. So then we went on the Ferris Wheel to get a cool breeze and a nice view.

[Image: GOfFkcQ.jpg]

Then we got hungry, so we stopped by the Mansion Dinner to get some food. I got some fries and a milkshake while my friends got burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream.

[Image: advuMvi.jpg]

Once we were finished, we went back out and kept riding Timber Wolf, the Tea Cups, and even the Grand Carousel. We also stopped by the Crystal Arcade once again and played so many games. We left the park when the sun was setting and I got this spectacular shot of the Ferris Wheel and Timber Wolf during sunset.

On the way out, I also bought this year's postcard from a small gift shop for 2.50$ I really like it.

Alright guys thats all for now and I cannot wait to progress this park, I have so many awesome ideas for the future of this park and should be happening soon! - DP5

{May 1972~Creating and Expanding}

Hello everybody, I am back at Redlyn once again this year to have a day of fun with my friends. I still have the same ones that I made from last year and all of us think that we are going to be here until we are probably in our late 20's hanging out at this place still :P But anyways lets get to the park. I rode Timber Wolf a few times and doesn't disappoint of how fun it is, and for the fun of it we hit the Grand Carousel while we were at it.

[Image: LZOrQ9S.jpg]

We then checked out the things that we have not seen at the park yet, for example the Mainstreet Cinema. They're showing the top movies of the year so far and also a few stage acts during holidays or special occasions. The movies are free but the stage acts that come now and then cost 4.50$ to get in.

[Image: l1LNgHc.jpg]

We also noticed this nice Gazebo on the way out, looks great for occasions or even announcements.

[Image: OuD4rnq.jpg]

Now on the way to some Tea Cups and some dinner, the park actually added new rides over the winter and we had no idea. At least one out of the two isn't the most exciting though. I should look closer on ads now due to this. The first ride we saw was this ride for Kids named "Kiddie Plane Ride", its obviously for kids but it looks like they're loving it becasue it has a pretty long line.

[Image: cvuLpoz.jpg]

Next is the big one and is pretty cool, its called "Monster". You're being spun in all directions possible and also being lifted up and down constantly. Its actually a bit more fun than the Tea Cups.

[Image: CD1nkr3.jpg]

Before we got some food, we noticed something that was out of the blue. It was this area across the Mansion Dinner. It was blocked up by some gates and had scaffolding all around. And all behind that a large roller to flatten cement. Wonder what this could be? It could be a ride, but who knows I could be wrong.

[Image: 6PEusHQ.jpg]

Thats all I got and I had another great visit to the park, I may come back in August to see what they're building. On the way out I got this nice snap of the Ferris Wheel.

So pretty! Not only do I love the woodie - which turned out just great - but I really enjoy the architecture of the buildings and the thoughtfulness put into the footpath layout and design. Just a bang-up job. Really, really nice! I like the story lines, too =D

{August 1972~Not What I Expected}

I went to Redlyn Once again with my friends but for an evening day with my friends. The evening tickets are $15.00. The park looks so beautiful when the sun is setting.

[Image: CLnDiKS.jpg]

So it turns out the new spot of what the park was building is a game area. It has some Hoop Games, Fat Cats, and others. Its something new, but not the most exciting.

[Image: 9PaVAkM.jpg]

We then ended the on Timber Wolf with tons of night rides on it. It was very fun and the ride looks so cool at night.

{Fall 1972~New Rides}

I saw in the paper that the park is adding two new rides! One is named a RockO'Plane and the other one is named the Scrambler. Can't wait to ride them next year!

{1973~Checking The New Rides and More to Come?}

Hey guys I went down to Redlyn today and I got a chance to check out the new rides. The first one I got to ride was the RockO'Plane. The ride is crazy and super fun, there is a lever you get to pull if you want to flip or not. My friends and I just had non-stop flipping, this is probably our favorite thrill ride in the park.

[Image: yMPrLWS.jpg]

Then here is the Scrambler, another ride that is quite thrilling. It feels like about the whole time you are about to hit the other riders but you don't. I'd say the only problem with this ride is that its at the back of the park.

[Image: VPWI4gM.jpg]

Out of all of these rides, this is what intrigues me the most. Its not a ride but a large construction site. It has various construction vehicles and then this giant block thing. This looks huge, I cannot wait to see whats coming next to Redlyn!

[Image: z7d9dqo.jpg]

We then left the park and we also noticed that you can see the other side of Timber Wolf, and I have to say that the ride looks so pretty around when the sun starts to set.

Thats all for now guys, more coming soon!
