New to RCT3, need help importing parks.

#1
Hello, as you can see I am new to RCT3 and I'm wanting to import some parks to the game to see how they look. I downloaded 2 parks from the website and then extracted them to the rct3/parks file. When I go in game I don't see any options on loading the parks. I've made sure they're not scenarios or anything like that, I'm in sandbox and see no options.

I'm looking for step by step in game to load a park. thank you Smile

Can you provide a link to the parks you were talking about? I can try and see if I can use them in RCT3. If it works, I'll give you the steps. If you have a different version, I may not be able to. Something you might want to try if you haven't already...
1. When you download the zip file, have it on your desktop. Then extract it on your desktop. Copy or move the .dat file to the documents/rct/parks file. (make sure the original zip file is not in the parks file)
2. When you open the game and get to the main menu I think you have a choice to start a new game (sandbox) or open up a file. Try opening up the file as you would if you had already made a park. So in that same section you should be able to get the park you downloaded. I hope that make sense and helps.

Second park is http://rctgo.com/downloads/view/4371

All I need to put into the parks file is the .dat file?

Yes. It should work. Here is a step by step picture that I hope you can follow. In the mean time, I'll try those specific links to see if it works the same. Are you on a PC? I don't know how to do this on a Mac.
See attached files...Steps1 jpeg, Steps 2 jpeg. Smile I hope the pictures make sense. I used an example of a park entrance area I made which I have downloaded to this site. http://rctgo.com/downloads/view/11455

I downloaded the links you provided. Cedar point was pretty simple and the .dat file does go into the documents/rct3/park folder. Most files have a readme with instructions, but this one did not. If you are confused I would pm the person who made the design. With regards to King Island there is a little more work. They have a read me file with instructions. I noticed it did have a .dat file, but you also need custom scenery. Which this person provided. So you need to download them. Please pm the person who made King Island. After I opened up the file, I didn't understand the rest of it. So I hope I answered some of your questions.
