Okay, several days later, screenshot time.
I've made some progress, but I'm not entirely happy with how the scenery is turning out.
It's rather hard to build scenery around such a compact coaster, because you actually have to put it
around the coaster, and it can't really interact with it either.
Short story that I'm trying to make with this coaster, is that a group of bandits are holding up a town, the Sheriff has his hands full, but then the Bounty Hunter comes along deals with the bandits.
With that said, let's move on to the screenshots, and I'll go about what I feel about them myself after each.
The big picture:
This should give you an idea on what I'm working on, or trying to make. I've picked a dry, rocky and sandy soil texture, because that is what I, as a media manipulated European teenager feel it used to look like back in the old West.
The town:
It's still a bit bare, and the buildings are simplistic at best. I've got a Saloon scenery structure, a bank that doesn't remotely look like one, and a Hotel that could as well be a dog house. Still, it's
just (I try to use that word carefully) the side scenery, while you're riding the coaster it'll be the least of your worries. It would be a good way for the peeps to walk around there to immerse themselves into Bounty Hunter's story, though.
The Bandit's hideout:
I used a The Last Outpost scenery structure here, and dressed it up with a few bandits and bisons to make it a bit livelier. The packs of dynamite should add a nice touch to showcase that they are, in fact, the bandits. As you see on the big picture, this hideout is basically set up just outside town, near the train station.
Showcasing the supports and filler scenery
I've been helped on the supports and did the brown ones myself. Once again, Flanges are a project for another time, they're just "finishing touch" details, in my eyes. The filler scenery is basically to give the other side of the coaster something. I really don't know what to do on that side. the backside is filled with most of the important scenery, but this leaves the other side with next-to-nothing.
Catwalks and tiny interactive scenery
I've changed the catwalks from double sided everywhere to left side/right side only. The visual glitch you get from overlapping textures was a pain for me, so the perfectionist that I am had to get rid of it.
I've set up a small showdown between two bandits and a sheriff under the coaster. The intention with this was to showcase that the sheriff does have his hands full, but also to make the story a bit more dynamic.
And that's where I'm up to now. If you have tips, advice, or possible CS sets that would match my theme perfectly and add some variety, I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks for reading and all the help I've been getting so far!
