I have NL2, and although I am not too good at it, there certainly is enough of a variety of coaster types to choose from. Taken straight from the wiki page, there are:

4D Coaster
Classic Steel Looping Coaster
Classic Steel Looping Coaster(Modern)
Corkscrew Coaster
Gerstlauer Bobsled Coaster
Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter
Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter 2
Gerstlauer Spinning Coaster
Gravity Group Timberliner
Hyper Coaster (with the option of four seats across, four staggered or four staggered with scoops)
Inverted Coaster(two or four seats across)
Inverted Face-to-Face Coaster
Inverted Impulse Coaster
LIM Launched Coaster
Mack Launch Coaster
Maurer Söhne Spinning Coaster
Maurer Söhne X-Car Coaster
Rocket Coaster
Suspended Coaster
Twisted Dive Coaster
Twisted Floorless Coaster
Twisted Flying Coaster
Twisted Sitdown Coaster
Twisted Stand-Up Coaster
Twisted Wing Coaster (via update 2.1.0.0) [4]
Vekoma Flying Dutchman
Vekoma Minetrain Coaster (with the option of a locomotive)
Vekoma Motorbike Coaster
Wooden Coaster (with styles of either classic six of four seat, or trailered two of four seat)
Zamperla Twister Coaster

The designing process can definitely take some getting used to though.

Here is the direct link to the NoLimits2 Website:

or
http://www.nolimitscoaster.com/download.php
requirements and other information.

They also have a great support page:
http://www.nolimitscoaster.com/support.php

They also have user demos/tutorials,etc. Has a variety of tracks that users have created and shown on there website. It's actually pretty amazing.

There are also 2 versions of NoLimits 2: No Limits 2 and No Limits Professional or Pro
