Vote for your favorite track! Round 198

#11
wow no offence guys but this is not the best round ever

Blue Bomber- Well its my 2nd favourite, at least you used sneery, but the station is kinda just a boring L shape, but nice job on colouring the ground, and the support

Hangman- Nice track layout, and the supports look really awesome, but we don't get a shot of the whole coaster, and besides the supports and a few trees, there is no real other scenery

Kraken-I really wish you had put more time into this, yes, the layout may be accurate, but Im sorry but the land looks absolutely horrible, incredibly blocky, except for the lake, and there is no scenery whatsoever. Even if you don't like to use cs, if you had used some in game stuff, put a roof over the queue line, added a station, and flattened out the land and coloured it, I feel like I would consider giving it a vote, I just think it could've been really awesome if you had taken more time on it before entering it into the downloads, and I know 100 downloads feels like a lot, but its not really, all of my coasters have at least 100 except for my newest one, and I put them all up since end of january or so (Im not bragging, I know others who have 100s downloads on their coaster regularly), so sorry but a 100 downloaded coaster doesn't mean it deserves to go into build it, and it really just needed a lot more work on basically everything

ROAR!- Although the name is a bit odd with the colours, I love the creativity. In the end this gets my vote, because I know how hard it is to make a coaster with good ratings and so many inversions at the same time. Plus it looks realistic, yet unique at the same time, with that kind of boxed in feel, and the custom supports are nice feature to the lift hill. The only thing I know I personally would do differently, is include the lift hill inside the boxed in area, to make it feel like part of the coaster, but I think this was very well done, good job NieSch

I agree with you and would extend it that a lack of scenary infact of lazyness is the killer Nr.-1 in any competition.

My vote goes finally to "ROAR", because the only downside is the basic looking station.
But this happens infact of NieSch style of building "compact". The Rest is solid RCT2 work.

Against this solid RCT2 work, Blue Bomber isn't solid enough for a RCT3 design.
If stations/buildings looking blocky in RCT2 this is more/less normal.
But a simple L-Shape with only one texture as a station in RCT3? Really?

Well both stations are the downside, so i don't count on them.
What's left is the track itself and again the RCT3 design isn't that solid.
The screens show a really nice layout with this cool feature of interlocking Lifthill/Loop/Corkscrew.
But the video offers a lack of flow/pacing of the whole coaster and this boring straight sections kills it for me. Normally videos are helpful, this time they show the downside aspects of it.
Also in the screens the coaster have footers, in the video no footers?! Two different process stages?!

Sry nathan, but in RCT3 i want to see more effort that is put into a design.
It has potential, but it needs some time spend into the details. Not solid enough to beat a good RCT2 entry.

The other two entries, well "Hangman" could be nice but with no overview screen and without scenary nothing special.
And "Kraken", first i thought that pre uploaded designs can't be entered into build-it?!
Aside from that, i'm speechless.
Because i would never enter such a unfinished, loveless and in accurate creation into a competition. And a download counter says nothing about the quality of it.

One question tyler: Do you really think this can be called "Recreation" and do you think it looks good?

Sry if it sounds rude, but all of your uploads aren't a Recreation in any term.
The word "Recreation" means much more than only the track itself. It means the whole atmosphere of the real coaster. So it's necessary to create all the surroundings aswell.
Every flowerbed, every shrub, every path should be close as possible to the real one.
And to do so, it needs a lot of work, time and the passion to doing this.
A reason why only a few people building Recreations.

The next problem is that Recreation can be judged even higher in competitions.
Because of there real counterpart.
Custom designs doesn't have this problem, if a coaster is based fo a real one or not.

I would recommend, don't enter unfinished Recreations into competitions like this and try to build your own custom designs. Also play around with some basic CSO Sets like Moby's Steel Jungle and watch tutorials on YouTube or SGW (ShyGuysWorld) to improve your skills.
You can also look at other ones creations and try to learn how they build these.

See all this negative feedback as inspiration and a push into the right direction.
After improving yourself you'll we see that your old creations aren't good enough and you can laugh about it. Every start isn't easy. But most of us want to see a specific level if it comes to RCT3.
And unfinished, unthemed, loveless works are a NoNo.

So long, Cobra

I totally agree that all of these rides could have used a lot better scenery (yes, I'm talking about me too).
Hangman has no scenery because it was rushed. Plus, I forgot how to terraform after I had made the other landscaping. Tongue
Thank you all for your criticism. It is very helpful. The more, the better!
