RCT3 Problem with custom scenery!

#1
Hey guys! I've been having a few problems recently, and its honestly annoying me so much! I have a laptop which runs windows 8 and a few month ago I downloaded the game onto it, including all of the expansion packs (Soaked, Wild) First, I had the "Billboard problem" which I had sorted out straight away, thanks to a Youtuber. But now I am having a problem with trying to download custom scenery.. Everytime I try to open "Custom structures" when playing the game, it comes up with "No files", I have even tried to type in the name of the saved downloads but nothing seems to appear.. If anybody has any suggestions that would be awesome!

Also, how do I know that the custom sceneries have downloaded correctly? And where should they be saved?

Ok custom scenery is not saved in the structures area
For each set, read the read me to make sure you've got it right, and do as it says, they usually go into your style/themed folder
They should show up as sets within either usually walls and roofs, or individual scenery pieces, however some show up in foliage, fences, and ride attractions occasionally
Structures are multiple scenery items that one puts together in game and then saves, so thats not where you want to look for custom scenery
Hope this helps!

I'm using RCT3 Platinum with soaked and wild on Windows 8.1. So my system is not that much different from yours. If you have a specific structure or custom scenery object you need help with let me know and I can help you more specifically with that file.

If you are having a hard time with the "Custom Structures" make sure you are putting the .dat file in documents/rct3/structures. Scenarios downloaded should go in the Start New Scenarios folder which is in the same location as the structure file. Documents/RCT3/Start New Scenarios. When you open the scenarios up in the game you need to go the button that looks like a slide to open the new scenario you put into your game. see attached files. I hope that makes sense and helps.

If you are having a hard time with Custom Scenery Objects (cso) make sure to read the read me file. These files do not go into the structure files under my documents. For example if you are using Station Jim Jr's Random Things: http://www.customscenerydepot.com/index....;down=2101
You would need to extract the folder using a program like 7 zip http://www.7-zip.org/ because many of his files are .rar files. After you extract that folder place only the folder: in your hard drive mine is on C drive yours may be different...then go to Program Files (x86) then go to Atari then go to Roller Coaster Tycoon Platinum then go to Style then go to your Themed Folder. Place the Random Things folder into this folder. Once you have this installed when you open up the game the scenery can be found in a few different places. So just take a few minutes to look into the different categories in the game. I think I found his sets under walls and another section I believe which is just called scenery.
fyi: I had a hard time with billboards to until I watched a similar video on youtube. So I'm glad you got that issue resolved.Smile
