What rides would you recommend. I want to go to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee IL. I haven't been there in years. Is X-Flight still there?

X Flight is still there and it rocks. Skip Dark Knight, it's a waste of time. I love V2 for some reason, and you can't miss Goliath or X-Flight. Umm, the woodies are surprisingly smooth (except AE red side) and Demon is not, skip that one. Do Batman or Superman if the line is short. I didn't ride any kiddie coasters or Whizzer, so no expertise there. Raging Bull sucks, it's overrated, and yeah.
                                                           Total coasters ridden: 66
Soon to be more. Cedar Point, Silver Dollar City, and Six flags St. Louis are all upcoming for me. Also possibly Kings Island!

The Whizzer is still there? Wow! I've been on Batman and Demon. But Superman and X Flight I haven't been on. So I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.

This is how to get a decent trip to Six Flags Great America. Believe me, I go 3 times a year.

  1. Get to the park at about 9:55-10:00, because 10:00 is when the gates open, but the rides are not open until 10:30.
  2. At 10:30, head straight for Goliath. At the beginning of the day, it stays around a 30 minute wait for like 15 minutes, then automatically gets to be a 75 minute wait after those 15 minutes.
  3. Head back to Yankee Harbor, and choose one of the inverts. Both are fun, but it's your decision. If you want to fit in a lot of rides, ride one of the inverts in Yankee Harbor and then move on.
  4. Head back past Goliath into County Fair, and do American Eagle. At the beginning of the day, the lines are only about 20 minutes, and do Blue Side. Red side is painful, and blue side is fairly smooth.
  5. Choose either Demon or X-Flight. I would much highly recommend X-Flight. This is going to be the last one you will want to do before lunch.
  6. Depending on the time, have lunch at the County Fair center.
  7. Head back to Demon if you enjoy getting jostled around and having a dizzy feeling. (This is sarcastic btw, I would not recommend Demon. But you might want to if it's the only time you are going in the year)
  8. Head to the Whizzer to take a break from all the exciting high thrill coasters, and for a nice breeze
  9. After the break, head to Southwest Territory and do both Viper and Raging Bull while you are there.
  10. Then finally, Superman: Ultimate Flight is a great way to end the day.

P.S. Slurpee, I don't think Amy has been on any other B&M Hypers (correct me Amy if I'm wrong), so it's a good starter
I need a new signature.

Some places require you to pay extra for certain rides is that the case for Six Flags now? If I go I want to go on X-Flight, Batman, Goliath and maybe Raging Bull. But for childhood memories, I've gotta go on the Whizzer again. Smile
So for right now I'm going to start saving money up to go next summer. Possibly June or July or when the park first opens. That is the plan for now.
