WHICH is the best? RCT1, 2, or 3?

#11
@ChrisMDB, I agree that it had it's flaws and so did the others. My favourite is STILL RCT2, although, RCT1 comes in close. Wink If, IF RCT1 had a custom scenario creator like RCT2, and my disc wouldn't malfunction, it would CERTAINLY be no.1 on my charts. Smile

Oooooo I always love these converations
Personally I agree a lot with Terry
1 was the original, and the scenarios were by far the best in the series, but im not sure about you guys, but' I'd much rather just play sandbox mode and create whatever I want instead of striving for an objective, I'll also mention RCT1 had the smooth mountain making feature which RCT2 didn't have, so making landscapes in game was a lot less tedious
2 is my personal favourite, because its 1, but better for creating stuff in sandbox mode, which where the real creativity happens, the ability to raise objects and rides was really useful too, and the scenery inventory is amazing, it is so easy to make so many different kinds of good looking buildings, in many different themes
3 is on a bit of a different scale, and although the graphics are great, and it has some cool features like coaster cam, fireworks, water parks, animals, and cs, there are quite a few core elements of the original 2 games that its missing. it has barely any good walls and roofs for buildings, which makes it really hard to make things like stations and restaurants. A major factor which makes me like it less is the lag, in RCT1 and 2 you could build massive megaparks without much problems in computer speed at all, when I build parks on the same computer in RCT3, I build 2 coasters and a couple of rides, and the lag starts happening, even when I turn down the graphics quality, I'll also mention the fact that RCT3 scenarios suck, the vanilla supports are really unrealistic, and the peeps are really frustrating cause they won't go to the back of your park on their own

@NaveisAwesome, I agree with all of what you just said. I really hated how in RCT2 that in the creator, you can backspace and make magnificent mountains, but when you go on a different scenario you couldn't. Same thing with when you're creating a water space, it's a lot bigger space to grow or lessen than in an already created scenario. I also hated that you had SO few RCT2 scenarios to start with. That's partly why I make my own scenarios to fill the missing link from 1-2. (The bigger part is that I have fun making awesome scenarios for you all!) If RCT1 had banked downhill and uphill curves, scenery just like RCT2, and had a park creator, RCT1 would be BY FAR my my favourite! I don't know how many of you agree with me. But, that's how I feel about it. Smile Feel free for criticism.

well I mean if you get the triple thrill pack theres actually fair amount of scenarios, plus i loved the inclusion of the six flags parks, that was a great idea
I'm not sure what point you're getting at with the banked uphill and downhill curves, both games have those, and no one mentioned them
Can I also mention in 2's defense, thats its got openRCT2, which comes with tons of cool features, the ability to make cs, and more rides and stalls available
