Wild! HELP !!!!. No:SVD:for:SID Game Crash

#1
Hi there
I have had RCT3 (Soaked and Wild Expansions) for some time now but I am only now getting into the downloading side of things. I have downloaded many trk files in the past but I am now keen to download CTR's & CFR's etc etc.
I am tech savy so I know what I am doing when extracting these files and follow the read me docs exact but I am getting the dreaded No:SVD error all the time and the game crashes as soon as I try to open a new ride (Magic and Rocket are examples of these rides).
How in the hell do I stop this happening ?. I have completely removed the program and re-installed freshly but I am still getting this error. I do not seem to have any issues with custom scenery as the ones I have downloaded all work fine. It is just the stupid rides now.

Can anyone out there help me out of this mess as I am now at a loss.

Sometimes no matter how careful you are with unzipping the files and putting them in the right spot this still happens. Most of the time the download was corrupted while you were downloading it (not really sure how/why it happens). If you delete the files and re-download them it [should] fix the issue.

What I do is copy the file from the downloads folder instead of moving it straight to the correct RCT3 folder. I break up the custom item's folder. Even if they all go into the same RCT3 folder. Don't install multiple items all in go. Instead, install 2 or 3 sets and make sure those works and then install some more and so on.

I do the same but the issue is still presenting itself. I am running a laptop with Windows 10 but I have done the compatibility so that it runs with Windows XPSP3. I have also adjusted all security settings just in case to full access on all folders to see if that has helped but to no avail. Do youy have any more tips at all as I am at my whitts end with this. I have no issues with roller coaster files at all (.trk). I can download loads of these and place them in the coaster designs folder with no issues when running the game. It is these CFR and CTR rides that are causing the problem. I have even downloaded some Custom Scenery too which has had no issues when running the game either. Any extra advice and tips would be greatly appreciated as I feel that I am missing out on some cool stuff that other rave about on here.

Can you give a link to the custom flat rides and custom tracks you are specifically having trouble with? I can take a look and see if I get the same issues. I'm also on a laptop using Windows 10. If it's showing up as no SVD: for: SID my guess it's not your computer but the custom flat ride or custom track you are using. It may be a corrupted file. I won't be able to know for sure until I see the files you are looking for.

I have been using both RCTgo and Custom Scenery Depot to do the downloads with the same results.
Here are a few links for you to try. Many thanks for your input buddy.

I was having issues like this when I first started downloading CS packs, so now I check the files being transferred before adding them to the style folder. Once I couldn't figure out why my game kept crashing so I checked the files individually and discovered some of the ovl files were missing letters when I downloaded it. For example: some of the files said wallleftside.ovl or wallrightside.ovl but then some said wallrightside.ol or wallrightside.ov! So I manually typed all the missing letters and it fixed the problem.

(Aug 27, 2017, 01:37 PM)JinkertonHave you had any luck with those links I sent accross or is it something on my system causing the fault ? Could it be my video card itself causing it to go wrong. It is one of those intel family chipset ones. Wrote:
