The whirring of a hard drive failing was a sound I never wanted to hear again. But there it was, the unmistakable death knell of my digital pride and joy – Forlindon, my meticulously crafted theme park in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. Years of painstaking construction, heart-stopping coaster design, and meticulous landscaping, all gone in a flash of corrupted data. Despair threatened to consume me, but a flicker of defiance ignited within. Forlindon wouldn't be consigned to the dustbin of history.
Armed with just a single, grainy screenshot and a faded, hand-drawn map from the park's early days, I embarked on a monumental quest – the reconstruction of Forlindon. It was akin to rebuilding a fallen park from a single photograph.

Forlindon as it stands today may not have been an exact replica, but it was reborn, a testament to the enduring power of imagination and the sheer, unadulterated fun of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. It was a park built not just with pixels, but with passion, and that's what truly made the magic of Forlindon shine.

Entrance

Welcome to the enchanting entrance area of our theme park, a place imbued with the charm and elegance of the Belle Époque. As you enter, you are immediately embraced by the splendor of that glorious era, with ornate architecture, refined lighting and detailed decorations that evoke the feeling of a golden age. The main building with its beautiful facade welcomes you and leads you to the different areas of the park. Below the entrance square is the unique attraction Elianor, a unique experience in the wine cellar of the main building, where you immerse yourself in an adventure among the wine barrels of yesteryear. The smell of old oak barrels mixes with the excitement of the ride, creating an enchanting experience that takes you straight to the heart of the Belle Époque era.
The entrance area also offers all the important facilities for a pleasant day in the park. You will find ATMs, the information office for all your questions, cozy shops with souvenirs, refined catering establishments and of course toilets. For safety, there is a first aid post nearby, so that you can enjoy your adventure without a care in the world.
From this central point, you will be guided to the various theme areas of the park, with the area opening up like a hub, so that you can start your adventure in the part of the park that most appeals to your imagination. Whether you choose the splendor of the Belle Époque or the excitement of other worlds, the entrance area is the perfect start to an unforgettable experience.

Thunderhead Prong
 
Deep in the majestic Great Smoky Mountains lies Thunderhead Prong, a village that once thrived on the lumber industry and mining. Built by the hands of hardworking miners and loggers, the village was the beating heart of the region's economy for decades. But as time passed, the times changed, and the demand for lumber stagnated and mining production ceased. The once-prosperous industries faded, but the resilient spirit of Thunderhead’s residents has not disappeared. In recent years, the town has transformed itself into a vibrant tourist hub, where visitors can explore its rich past while enjoying the adventures it now has to offer.
The centerpiece of Thunderhead Prong is the impressive Thunderhead Mansion, a stately home that once belonged to the magnates who owned both the town’s mine and sawmill. Now vacant and for sale, the house is shunned by locals, convinced it’s haunted. The atmosphere surrounding the estate is filled with mystery, and rumors abound about the mansion’s dark history. Visitors can explore the house and learn about the secrets of its past—but only if they dare.
Just outside the mansion is the Thunderhead Mine Company, a former mine that has been transformed into an interactive museum. Here, visitors can take a journey through time and discover how generations of miners entered the mines to extract valuable ores and minerals that brought prosperity to the village. The highlight of the museum is the exhibit on the revolutionary cart system that the miners themselves developed to quickly move the mine carts between the various tunnels and shafts. It is an exciting and educational experience that shows the ingenuity of Thunderhead’s early residents. Nearby are the remains of the old timber industry, found at the Thunderhead Wood Company, the last remnant of the once thriving sawmill industry. When the mine closed, so did the demand for timber, and the sawmill company was brought to its knees. However, engineers from both the mine and the timber company came together and created something spectacular for the new tourism industry. Using leftover timber and iron from both industries, they built a unique hybrid rollercoaster that takes visitors at full speed through the mountain landscape and over iconic features of the village. Combining the strength of traditional wooden coasters with the smoothness of steel, the coaster offers an exhilarating experience that keeps Thunderhead’s history alive while propelling the town into the future.
For those seeking a more relaxing experience, Glenora Creek offers a serene escape. Once used to transport logs to the mill, the creek now provides a tranquil setting for boat rides. The calm waters of the creek give visitors stunning views of the surrounding natural landscape.
Ever vigilant about the safety of their beloved mountains, Thunderhead residents built the Thunderhead Fire Lookout—a tower that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Originally a series of stairs, the lookout tower was expanded over the years to include a modern elevator, allowing visitors to quickly get back and forth in the event of an emergency. From the top, guests can enjoy breathtaking views or simply take in the tranquil beauty of the Smoky Mountains while learning about the crucial role fire lookouts have played in preserving the region’s natural resources.
For those seeking speed and excitement, Circuit Sir E. Sterlion offers the perfect outlet. Named after the legendary Sir E. Sterlion, Thunderhead’s most famous racer, the track offers visitors the chance to watch thrilling races on a track that honors his legacy. Guests can cheer on the racers as they race around tight turns and toward the finish line.
There’s no shortage of fun for families and kids. ThunderMaze, a giant maze full of surprises, provides hours of entertainment. Children can navigate the labyrinth, solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles as they make their way to the centre. It’s a great way for younger visitors to explore the village and enjoy a bit of healthy competition.







Holzstadt

Welcome to Holzstadt, a charming Austrian mountain village that has its roots in the centuries-old tradition of the timber industry. Nestled amidst imposing mountains, Holzstadt enjoys a unique microclimate where snow falls almost all year round, giving the village an enchanting, wintery feel. The village is deeply rooted in the culture of the region, with nature as its greatest asset. The thick forests, covered in an eternal blanket of snow, have always played a crucial role in the development of Holzstadt.
At the heart of Holzstadt lies Pykrete, a log flume that takes visitors on an exciting journey through the mountains and the history of the local timber industry. As a potential timber merchant, you are invited to take a look behind the scenes of the mill. The ride takes you through the enchanting forests and rugged mountain landscapes, while you learn all about the traditional process of timber harvesting. The log flume winds through the mountains and offers spectacular views of the untouched landscape, where the power of nature and human labor go hand in hand.
Tannenwald Bobbahn offers a different experience, where you glide through the lush forests of Holzstadt. This bobsleigh track winds its way quickly and skillfully through the deep forest, with the icy wind rushing through your hair as you race past the beautiful trees and snow-covered paths. It is a ride full of speed and adventure, where the nature of Holzstadt takes on a whole new dimension. It feels like a winter journey through breathtaking surroundings.
After a day of adventure, you can relax at Schneemantanz, a carousel located right next to a cozy bar. Here you can enjoy a hot drink, while the authentic Austrian music invites you to dance along. The carousel is decorated with snowmen and other local symbols, reflecting Holzstadt’s rich tradition. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with the scent of local specialities filling the air. In addition, Holzstadt Eisbahn offers the perfect opportunity to show off your skills on the ice. The ice rink is the centre of creative expression, where you can skate and show off your most beautiful choreographies at the same time. Illuminated by the glow of atmospheric lanterns, and with snowflakes falling softly, you will experience a magical atmosphere. It is a place where the art of skating is celebrated, and where everyone can show off their own artistic flair, surrounded by the enchanting winter world of Holzstadt.





Port Royal
 
This is Port Royal, a rugged pirate village tucked away on the coast, where adventure, danger and the smell of seawater are always in the air. It is a world where pirates celebrate their freedom, share their loot and risk their lives in search of the greatest treasures. This themed area brings the legend of the pirates to life with exciting rides, secrets and an atmosphere that makes every visitor feel like they are in the middle of an adventurous story.
Blackbeard's Escape is Port Royal's wild mouse coaster, and it is anything but a quiet ride. The attraction follows the route that the infamous Blackbeard and his pirates often used to escape from the royal navy and other enemies. The adventure begins at the top of a mountain, where you have a view of the wild sea and the pirate harbour below. Then you swing down at high speed, twisting around the rocky outcrops and through dark caves dug by the pirates themselves. The ride is a rough flight over rocks and through unpredictable waters, and you will experience the thrill of a pirate flight as if you were escaping with Blackbeard himself!
Another exciting adventure is offered by Queen Anne's Revenge, a swing ship named after the legendary pirate captain Blackbeard himself. This ship swings you through the air, like a secret weapon of the pirates who show their strength and courage with every swing. It feels like you are at the wheel yourself, as you swing higher and faster above the wild sea. The power of Queen Anne's Revenge is not to be underestimated, and you will be challenged again and again to show the courage of a real pirate.
Deep in the mysterious Skull Rock, an imposing rock formation that rises from the sea like a giant skull, lies the ultimate pirate treasure: Rum Cave. This carousel offers a unique experience that every pirate must experience. Here you step into a barrel and spin in the company of pirates who share their secrets and believe they can find their wealth in rum. But beware, because this treasure is not without risks: before you leave, you will be given a shot of rum (or another drink of your choice), and it soon becomes clear why this treasure is so important to the pirates. A little further into the village, you will come to the Gunpowder Cellar, a storage facility for the explosive substance that pirates love so much. As soon as you enter the darkness, you can feel the tension rising. In this darkest corner of Port Royal, the trick is to let your eyes adjust to the shadows, because one wrong move or a spark can lead to an explosion! Here you will experience the thrill of pirates who constantly live on the edge of danger, with a constant reminder that a forewarned pirate is worthless!
When you feel like you have mastered the adventure of Port Royal, you can discover the story of one of the most famous pirates in history: Calico Jack. Calico Jack's Tale is a dark ride that takes you on the wild adventures of the legendary pirate captain. Throughout history, Savai’i’s people have used their wisdom and creativity to overcome the island’s challenges, especially when it comes to their unique relationship with the volcano god. The god watches over the island, and his volcano erupts from time to time, driving the people to great lengths to find ways to appease him and protect their lives.
 
The enormous volcano, which forms a constantly menacing and imposing silhouette against the sky, immediately catches the eye. The people believe that the volcano is guarded by the fiery god, and it is essential to show him that one is not afraid of his power. The people do this with Maunga HuriHuri, a spinning rollercoaster that winds through the volcanic jungle, giving the viewer the feeling of hurtling down the fiery mountain. The ride takes you through dangerous bends and unexpected drops as you spin around your axis. The roller coaster symbolizes the courage and trust of the inhabitants in the power of the god, who helps them to keep the volcano under control time and time again.
The sea around Savai'i is rich in fish and other treasures, but in order to provide the island with food, the inhabitants sometimes have to go out on the water to fish. This is done with Waka, where visitors can sail on the ocean's outcrop in a canoe.
The islanders have always sought ways to transcend their physical limits, and one of their most daring inventions is RereRangi, a machine that simulates an otherworldly experience. This device offers a journey through the minds and bodies of the inhabitants, where they feel as if they are leaving their physical form behind and floating through the air. TukiTuki is one of the island’s most ingenious and sought-after inventions: a machine that helps the locals get to safety as quickly as possible during a volcanic eruption. TukiTuki is a kind of catapult that launches you into the air at enormous speed to take you far away from the volcano. It sounds like a crazy idea, but it is a brilliant solution to the unexpected violence of the volcanic eruptions that occasionally hit the island. The machine is designed to bring you to the right height so that you can safely leave the island and take shelter until the storm has passed. It is a true adrenaline experience that reflects the courage of the islanders.




Njardirheim

And then of course there is the pride of Njardirheim itself: the great roller coaster built by the Vikings to test the courage and honor of the traveler before the god Odin. Pingyao
 
Pingyao, a city of legends, mysticism and adventure, located on the mighty Great Wall of China. Pingyao was once built with one purpose in mind: to be the capital of the dragons. These majestic creatures, who disappeared centuries ago, will, according to ancient prophecies, one day return to fight the forces of nature and protect the land. With its authentic buildings, eateries and street theatre, Pingyao is more than a place; it is a living tribute to the ancient wisdom of the dragons and the connection the city’s residents have with these mythical creatures.
The people of Pingyao believe that the physical and spiritual well-being of their city is essential for the return of the dragons. That’s why the residents train monthly to be in top shape, ready to go into battle alongside the dragons. The Long Zi Zhan, a spectacular launch coaster, reflects this training. On this coaster you experience the speed and power of battle, shooting through the air at lightning speed, just as the dragons once did. Every turn and dive feels like a test of strength, speed and courage – essential for the battle with the dragons.
For the youngest residents of Pingyao there is LongTou, a magical ride on a flying saucer that looks like a dragon’s head. For those who want to understand the deeper history of Pingyao and its connection to the dragons, there’s HuanXin, a mesmerizing dark ride that takes you through the city’s history. You will travel through a mystical world where the legends of dragons come to life. The ride tells the story of how Pingyao was once a peaceful city, but also how dragons emerged to protect the people during the time of great chaos. You will be drawn into a magical experience that not only shows you the history of Pingyao, but also connects you with the spirit of the dragons.
The Ying Nian is an enchanting carousel that serves as a launching point for the hawk bikes – another important means of transportation in Pingyao. These bikes, which look like bird-like vehicles, are used by the residents to fly around the city. Hélios

Discover Hélios, an enchanting island that transports its visitors back to the glory days of ancient Greece. This island sits majestically on the edge of a cliff, its white houses and iconic blue roofs reflecting in the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The air is infused with the scent of citrus fruits and salt, and it is a place where mythology and adventure meet in a harmony of beauty and excitement.
The lively town on the island is a picturesque maze of alleys and squares, where colorful markets and cozy eateries keep ancient traditions alive. In the souvenir shops you will find handmade ceramics, artworks inspired by the Greek gods, and fragrant olive oil that invites you to capture the spirit of Hélios. Yet it is not only the island’s tranquil charm that attracts visitors, but also the legendary attractions that bring the myths and stories of ancient Greece to life.
Petaxo is the first attraction you will encounter. This flying coaster takes you into the air, like a modern interpretation of Icarus, the young man who flew too close to the sun. As you shoot through the air with two spectacular inversions, you feel free and invincible. But rest assured, here the adventure ends better than in the old legend: you fly safely through the air, the island beneath you shrinking, and land back on the cliff with a sense of victory, without the tragic end of Icarus.
Atlantica is a visual journey through time, where you will be presented with a dramatic story about the lost civilization of Atlantis through 4D film technology. As the story unfolds, you will feel the tension of the fall of a mighty city and the mystery of the ocean that swallowed it all. You will experience the tragic beauty of Atlantis, with its majestic palaces, lively markets and the waves that brought about their downfall. It is an immersive experience that will make you relive the lost world of the Greeks and their wonders in all their glory. But beware! The wrath of Neptune awaits you in the attraction known as Neptune. This carousel revolves around a giant statue of the god of the sea himself. As you spin, you will feel the power of the waves, the storms that Neptune spread across the world. The ride is a test of courage: will you dare to stand up to the wrath of the god of the sea? Prove that you are a true Greek warrior by braving the elements and resisting the power of the gods.
Finally, an adventure of heroism and vigilance awaits you at Pegasus. This ride takes you on a tour of the buildings of the ancient city of Helios. As you travel through winding alleys and iconic temples, you are the only one who must warn the gods of an impending danger. Pegasus, the winged horse, guides you through the city as you admire monumental statues of the Greek gods along the way. Baiae

In the heart of the town of Baiae, renowned for its luxury and the splendor of its thermal baths, are buildings that reflect the grandeur of the Roman Empire. It is a town where the gods themselves might well come to enjoy the pleasures, spectacles and tranquility that Baiae has to offer.
Theatrum Imperatoris is the great Roman theatre of Baiae, an impressive structure where comedy performances are held every day for the residents and visitors. The performances are filled with the witty and refined humor that characterizes the Romans, with actors who bring to life the splendor of the imperial city and human nature. The rose scent of the temple gardens mingles with the laughter of the audience, while the scent of the sea salt from the bay permeates the air.
Near the sea is Ferris Rota Magnum, a giant Ferris wheel of indescribable dimensions, which offers visitors a panoramic view of the town and the enchanting coastline of Baiae. From the top of the wheel, you can see the glistening waters of the bay and the bustling life of the city below.
On the calm waters of Baiae Bay, the famous Cygnus boats bob, inviting visitors to climb aboard and take a gentle ride in the shape of majestic swans. The boats move slowly over the mirror-smooth waters, as you enjoy the soothing sounds of nature and the view of the seaside city stretching out across the horizon.
Near the quays is Ostia Antica, a thrilling dark ride that takes you through the city’s warehouses and warehouses. You are surrounded by the scent of spices, the clinking of metal tools and the hustle and bustle that drove the city’s economy. A tribute to Rome’s vibrant trade and ancient industrial wonders.
Just next to the warehouses, you can enjoy Byzantine Stragula, a mesmerizing ‘flying carpet’ ride, a rare gift from the Friends of Byzantium. The magic carpet takes you on an adventurous journey, as the sun sinks behind the horizon.
For those looking for , there is the Publico Balnearum, a short roller coaster ride that winds through the immense public bathhouse. Seated in the special bath train, you feel like you are in the bubbling steam of the baths, with the smell of oil and water stimulating your senses.
Not far away is the legendary Circus Maximus, where real Roman chariot races take place. For seven rounds, you experience the battle between real Roman chariots, racing around the bends and competing for the highest honor. The cheers of the crowd, the clatter of the horses' hooves and the hum of the wheels fill the air, which vibrates with excitement.
On the highest peaks of Baiae stands the Columna Traiana, a viewpoint where, like the cityscape of the great Emperor Trajan himself, you can look out over the city and the sea. Here you can admire the splendor of Baiae in all its glory and capture the soothing beauty of nature.
Finally, there is Pharus, a lighthouse that guides ships safely into port. In the dark of night, the lighthouse shines its light over the calm waters, a beacon for sailors who want to moor safely after their long journey across the Mediterranean.





Vaerenburgh
 
Welcome to Vaerenburgh, an enchanting town that brings the rich and mysterious atmosphere of the Middle Ages to life. Situated at the foot of a majestic castle, surrounded by thick city walls and an impressive rampart, it seems as if time has stood still here. The streets are paved with rough stones, and the smell of freshly baked bread and the sound of the hammering of the forge fills the air. Small houses with thatched roofs and the typical wooden facades give the town its charm, while the tavern is always filled with the sound of laughter, music and the smell of roasted meat. The town hall of Vaerenburgh is centrally located on the market square, where the villagers live their daily lives and justice is administered by the wise and fair mayor.
In the heart of the town, the castle rises proudly, an impressive fortress with towers that rise high into the sky. The royal guards stand vigilantly on the walls, while inside the castle the king leads his court and the magician works his secrets. The city lives and breathes the history of knights, noble families, and magical powers. The daily routines are tied to the gravity of medieval life, but there is still room for fun and adventure.
For younger adventurers, there is a carousel that introduces them to the rituals of horse riding, so they can prepare for their own future knightly adventures. Children can feel like knights as they gallop on wooden horses, or test their courage on the small free-fall tower—a miniature version of the towers soldiers once used to prepare for the jumps when besieging enemy castles.

But the real thrills await those who dare to tackle the main attractions, and the most legendary of them all is the hanging roller coaster. This spectacular ride swings visitors through the air, like a bird flying above the city. It’s an adventure that evokes the spirit of knights and explorers, as you soar through the air and view the castle from above, with the city and surrounding forest like a living painting beneath your feet.
Yet it’s not just adventure and thrills that make Vaerenburgh so special. There’s also magic in the air—literally. The king has had his magician create a broomstick, an enchanted object that can fly outside the castle walls. The king has instructed his footman, Baldrick, to travel the world on this broomstick and keep Vaerenburgh safe. As soon as you sit on the broomstick, you’ll feel yourself rising upwards, soaring through the nearby forest. The fresh scent of pine and the rushing wind fill your senses as you soar above the forest.
But the adventure soon takes an exciting turn. Baldrick discovers a group of outlaws in the forest plotting to attack the castle. The tension rises, the trees rustle and the freedom of the air is overshadowed by the threat of danger. Baldrick, in a hurry, quickly soars back to the castle and warns the guards on the walls. His flight carries the message quickly and loudly through the town, and the guards spring into action to prepare for the attack. The town is immediately put on alert, and the residents join the defense of their beloved castle.






Tollan
 
Far away, hidden in the mysterious jungle, lies a forgotten city that has only recently been rediscovered. For centuries, it was once the proud capital of the Toltec Empire, a civilisation renowned for its worship of powerful gods and impressive buildings. This city, rich in history and legend, is now the setting for a fascinating themed area, where you can relive ancient Toltec traditions and mythology.

Chalain
 
The enchanting village of Chalain is situated on a large, peaceful lake, where life used to be in symbiosis with nature and the elements. The village was built on stilt houses that stretched out over the water like a floating network of houses and barns. The inhabitants were masters of harnessing the power of the water and using its natural resources to sustain their lives. Grain was stored in the wooden barns that hung over the water, but soon the trade expanded to other products, such as fish and wood. The people of Chalain were not only entrepreneurs, but also strategists. Their location on the waterfront made it easy for them to defend themselves against intruders and wild animals that crossed the lake or the surrounding forest.
At the heart of this village is the Le Moulin à Eau, an iconic watermill that still does its job today. The sound of the turning wheel is a reminder of the old days when water power was used to grind grain and provide the village with food. Great care was taken to ensure the well-being of the residents. In addition to the mill, the Pompe à Eau ensured that water was transported efficiently through the village. This system made life in Chalain pleasant and provided the necessary resources for daily life.
However, the residents of Chalain could not only rely on the protection of the water, but also had other resources at their disposal. The Le Phare, an old lighthouse, was built as a beacon of light, so that people could find their way at night. Today, the lighthouse has been converted into a thrilling slide that takes park visitors on an adventurous journey down, creating a playful link between the past and the present.
Next to this floating village on stilts lies another, smaller village on the shore of the lake: Rivage. In the small harbour of Rivage lies the legendary Boudeuse, the ship of the famous explorer De Bougainville, which once travelled around the world. Finally, nearby is the Labyrinth, a maze of tall hedges that challenges visitors to find their way. Originally designed as a training ground for villagers to test their strategic skills, this labyrinth is now an exciting challenge for anyone who wants to unravel the secrets of its paths.

Litargo is the unmistakable centerpiece of Innovatia. This impressive dive coaster with two vertical drops is built into a modern research center. The research center is dedicated to developing techniques to inspect wells more efficiently. This allows for optimal monitoring of wells, but the technology works best when there are also people in the cars to form a general picture of the situation.
