another couple questions

#1
ive got a few more questions

so do most of the peeps handle walkways that are mulitple paths wide, or do they sitlll get lost like in the first 2 RCTs.

is there any way to make a coaster such as Superman:Ultimate Escape at Geauga lake, i.e., can you have a LIM coaster that will allow the train to go backwards through the station as in SUE, or is that not possible

is there a way to make a "demon drop" from cedar point, or a "mr. hydes nasty fall" from geauga lake, where is the option to build one of those, ive searched all the ride categoriew and cant find one, am i missing it or does it not exist?

also, in regard to performance upgrades, what will give you the best "bang for your buck", i.e., will increasing my RAM give me better perfroamce with the game than getting a better graphics card, or vice versa, any, which one woul you all recommend as far as helping myh gameplay run more smoothly, which of the two upgrades would help the most

thanks all

I haven't had any problems with them getting lost.

I want to say yes but I'm not too sure.

I have no idea.

RAM vs Graphix Card. It depends on what you have now. What do you have now?

Erm, I have found that the graphics card is not the limiting factor in RCT, it's more CPU limited. Your Radeon 9000 is proberly holding back the game in you're case....

Looking at my PC as an example, I use a Radeon X850XT and Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz EE, run it at 1280 X 1024 with every option maxed out. Frame rate averages around 21-29 on my megapark (Previous problems with my comp are fixed, see other thread). If I lower the detail to the lowest possiable settings, frame rate remains un-changed, but the CPU is still working flat out calculating the physics...

I saw more performance boost going from 3.0 Ghz P4 to 3.4 Ghz Extreme Edition P4 that I did moving from a Radeon 9600XT to X850XT.

I know the CPU and graphics are "top end", but the point I am trying to make is, that above anything else, faster CPU's give the best boost in performance by being able to process data soooo much faster.

Just my 2p's worth, and definatly something to consider.

To find out your ram and other specs

go to:

start,
control panel,
performance and maintenance'
system
and it should bring up a window that tells you about your operating system and genral spec info.

The basic rules regarding getting the best game performance are:

1) update all drivers.
2) remove any addware, spyware and viruses ect.
3) close all uneeded tasks/programs ect.
4) make shore you have the latest rct updates/pacthes.
5) defrag at least once a month.

Your questions.........

I genraly build my pathes at least 3 to 4 squares wide (main streets ect)and have had no problem with regards to peeps getting lost.

From what i have seen, I have never had a coaster go backwards throught the station or seen anyone do it. But saying that it would be a great feature to have as it would be more realistic. ATARI take note lol

Demon drop.. I havent seen one. There may be one knocking around somewhere, who knows? The best way to find things like that out is to exsperiment with diffrent ride types and inversions ect. Most peaple that play rct will knock there building/rides down ect at leat 10 times before setteling on one idea.
Its more trial and error and trying diffrent ideas before getting somthing you like.

If you have any questions regarding pc performance and suggested specs ect. Id reccomend talking to (pm) RCS2K4. Hes what id call a pc geniusBiggrin
Hope this makes sense and helps.

Depends on what you get/what will fit and be compatible with your pc.
look here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Intel_CPUs.html

It all depends on how much you are willing to spend on your pc. Obviously the more you spend, the better the performance parts.
Im currently building a new pc and will cost around the £2500 mark but I know allot of peeps wouldnt beable to afford or want to spend that much.

I strongly suggest speaking to (PM) RCS2K4. Tell hiim the maximum you are willing to spend. Or even a budget you have for a new pc and he should be able to point you in the right direction.
Hope this helps Smile
