Well, from the first day the thrillride safety board heard about Armageddon nearly five years ago, no'one thought this ride would make it past the drawing board. But we all know MicroRobotics, who provided all the technology for the $600m super-ride, doesn't give up that easily. The ride was finally given the go-ahead after a heated court battle, on the condition scrupulous new safety measures (written up just for this ride) were met.

The countless problems during the whole project would have probably stopped construction if it was not for the astronomic funding MicroRobotics could provide. A group of angered protesters emerged from the public after the court case, and grew in size over time sending hundreds of death threats and even explosive mail. 3 worker deaths continue to haunt the site, and test train malfunctions and even reports of crashes have done nothing to help. But seemingly unfazed, the company has pushed this project to the final stages of development.

MicroRobotics insists the ride is now "safe as houses" boasting their new nanolaser motion detection systems as the most advanced ever "like nothing you've ever seen". One thing is for sure, the controversy surrounding this ride has made it internationally famous, and it seems the apparent dangers involved are actually attracting thrillseekers from everywhere. A few more photos have been released and all the long awaited secrets are now slowly being disclosed. The company is confident this ride will be open for the christmas season.

As I have said on the Atari forums, this is truly incredible. Best 4D coaster I have ever seen... I really can't wait for the next update.

A lot more time has gone into synchronising the trains than anything else.
And it really is a nightmare getting it right because the more i add, the more LAG i get, and lag screws up the timing.

THE PREVIEW VIDEO IS NEARLY DONE

The preview video is nearly complete. And I guarantee it will be like nothing you've ever seen. Now i know this is a strong statement, but i wouldn't make it if i wasn't so pleased at whats in it. After many many many attempts at getting the timing right of the flying camera, i finally got it pretty darn good.
You liked the pics? You ain't seen nothin' yet...

Still have to produce the video, but it shouldn't take long as the bulk of the content is now completed. So you can expect it pretty soon. The screenshot below is a preview of the preview! To keep you guys settled.

The LAG element has made this project a nightmare, not because it slows down my PC, but because it has devestating effects to certain sychronisation tequniques. It can be got around by constantly juggling different graphics options and by recording videos (which illiminate lag), but nonetheless, NIGHTMARE:bulb:
