terrain textures

#1
i have a question. i was reading my rct3 prima game guide and on page 119, under terrain textures>surface colors, it says "you may color the terrains' surfaces by using any of a dozen materials ranging from ice and snow to mud, stone, or grass. on computers with high-end video cards, (mine's a radeon x1600 w/ 256 mb of video memory), you can even blend many of these to form complex textures." how do i do this, exactly? is there something in the custom graphics setting i need to check? i'm currently using the quality graphics setting detected by autodetect, or whatever it's called. i don't see how i can use the custom settings if i'm using the quality graphics setting. can anyone help me?
thanks.

Well dont use autodetect. It looks like your computer can handle the highest settings. And im really not sure about this one. Maybe if you just do very quick taps of the mouse with another color. Maybe you can use those other textures that i never knew what they did.

Oh, Nascarnick, Shovel, then colour, one changes the ground colour, one changes the side of terrain you've raised.
