Earlier on I was thinking, wouldn't it be great in my Frozen Meltdown ride I could have a train in the hellish section which instead of smoke coming out had fire? And, as you can see in that pic, it is possible.
What I did was so simple, I could hardly believed it actually worked. In the Atari/RCT3/ParticleEffects folder, I found the particle named SteamTrainSteam and just randomly chose the one called fire. I made backups of both of these obviously. Then, I deleted the SteamTrainSteam one, and copied the fire one. I renamed the fire one SteamTrainSteam.
Like I said, it's incredibly simple. In fact, I would be VERY surprised if anyone hadn't tried this before. And, just so you all know, I discussed this with sr3d and he thought it would work too, so he gets some credit as well.
But you may all be wondering how could this come in useful? Well, to be honest, I have absolutely no idea. I would imagine you could change any of the particles for anything, so for example you could have the winged demon breathing bubbles (if for some reason you wanted to do that) or possibly even have coasters crashing in a custom firework. But when I find a more interesting looking fire particle to use (the one I've used there looks crap), it will certainly make my coaster seem a hell of a lot better. :haha:
But remember, if you try this, ALWAYS back everything up. And also remember that chaanging the particles will change it for ALL parks. It's probably something best left for use in videos.
