dark ride help (pitch black walling? where to dl)

#1
I remember ages ago a thread containing a link to some awesome geek who had made custom pitch black walls for dark rides... where is this? it's been about 5 years since I've had a play with RT3 and can't find the walls. something must of screwed up after my reinstall.

doing a dark ride, this I guess is the classic way of doing it.

as you can see there's a faux 2D wall. it looks good, it's got a moute and everything lol

as you can see in 2nd pic I've build the main ride (a spinner coaster) in a nice pit so it doesn't look to weird from the front (too hight that is) is this the best way to do dark rides?

PS, I seem to remember, even with a giant black wall canvas over it, it doesn't generate shadow? so you can still see the track. is there anywhere to make the ride experience like pitch black?
ok Ive found the dark ride pumper pack. but it hasn't installed properly.

I unziped both files to desktop, ran the exe. change the directry name from C/programfiles'''' to G/programfiles because that's where it is. Then it moaned. I looked at the orignal path and noticed it was to unzip in the last folder of 'themed' but my RTC3 main folder didn't have a themed so I made a new folder and called it themed. after that it unziped. Went into the game, looked up the list of walls but it wasn't to be found in there what have I done wrong?

ok I need help, why is this message board so dead?? wake up please!!!

Baiscally, tried to install it, forgot to put STYLE/THEMED (that's sorted now) but it's only installed half of it, including:- vertical tunnel, horizontal tunnel, spider, clown wall, clown2 wall, some castle walls. but no important just plain black wall, or ceiling? what's going on? doesn't that unzip exe thing work very well?

I noticed in the Sytle/themed/darkride folder, it looks like there should be more files there, but making new folders and GUESSING the name isn't going to help can some one help me?
ok I think the setup exe file or whatever is missing in SET1. I'm screwed then. I tried to contact trackworx but the email bounced Frown
come one some one pleeeeeeeease help me, dying to get this black tent built around it (Atowers Blackhole stylee) but this dark set problem is getting in the way.

do you have the regualar standard folder or did you just download the .exe file?
If you have the reguler file, delete the files the exe put in your folders then move the contents of the regular folder into your themed folder
i have downloaded tons of these objects and .exe has been a pain so i usually download the reg folder and install it manually into the themed directory

basically if you messed up when loading the exe the best thing to do is delete all the files it extracted and start again

Awesome dark ride BTW
I havent ever done one but i have one planned for the near future i just want to make sure i have everything in order to get it right
also i have learned that you can save scary pics and use them on custom bill boards and use the billboards as walls for the ride makes it really interesting

By the way here is a link that still has most all the downloads for the game that you will ever need
all you have to do is register,it is free

thanks, I did some manual folder moving stuff before and I just got the game freezing and a message like this:-

no :sdv for :sid
[OK]

but now I've managed to do it again by doing what you said and deleting it and starting fresh. in the end my /style/theme folder looks like this

so anyone else struggling just have it like that Smile

awesome!
My name is Tim too lol.
i wanted to also tell you that there is an awesome dark ride tutorial on Atari forums

dark rides are an amazing aspect to any park and i feel that too many times they are overlooked...even Disney has them..... i think Walt Disney himself helped build haunted mansion b4 he died
my problem is that i have never really been on one,so to build an accurate representation isn't going to be easy and i don't want to just throw in somethings that others have done.
i want a ride of my own creation. so i have decided to try to go it alone use strategies i already know...etc
your castle theme is awesome
kind of like a haunted castle ride
i want to do a haunted mansion dark ride
unfortunately the only black walls i have now are star walls i need to get some black tubes and walls for the ride b4 i attempt it
